Pulled my isos off of my car with prokit springs, and my left rear has rubbed a few times now. I have tokiko blues on the rear with maybe 7000 miles on them. I was wondering if maybe swapping to adjustable rear shocks and if i just turned em up to be pretty stiff if yall think it would help with it rubbing. car will only see the track a few times a year so i could soften them up then.

thanks yall. any other ideas that you have i would love to hear too. i love the height its at now and rolling fenders is probably last resort bc im afraid of cracking all of the paint.

rolling the fenders isn't too hard, just make sure you take your time and heat the paint and you wont have to worry about cracking

could always just put the isos back in the rear. If your rear shocks are really stiff and the front aren't the car is probably going to ride like crap.

really? i have sportlines with no isos i have never scrape my midpipe or rubbed the tire on the rear fender unless im taking a sharp turn at high speed..

Put your insolators back in.
As onyx stated, if you choose to use adjustable shocks and set them too stiff youll sacrifice the ride quality.

forgot to add i have 315's on the back also. maybe i will have to put one of the rear isos back in. i just hate to raise it bc it looks perfect the way it sits now. doesnt ride the greatest now as it is, just wonder if i did try and get the adjustable shocks how much worse it would really be.

I'm in the same boat man but I have FRPP C springs, same tokiko blues and only 305's as rear tires. I even have the lower Iso's installed in the rear. Anyway, I'm subscribed because I cant find a solution to this....and since I already have lower CA's I'm not going to buy new ones.

Spring rate will do a great deal more than adjustable shocks when it comes to rubbing issues. Shocks are there to dampen fast movements. If your issues are a real rub rather than it just bouncing and hitting something, then shocks are not to blame. The spring rate of your pro-kit is 200-251lb/in in the back, which is less than stock at the bottom end, and about the same as Mach springs at the high end. I would suggest getting Mach springs, which are far cheaper than getting adjustable shocks, and I think would be a better solution to your problem.

its fine cruising, but twice now if say you come off a bridge and the road dips like some do as you come back onto reg road, it has rubbed the tire

new uppers and lowers both put on at same time. did springs and control arms all at same time. i tihnk cntchds is right about the spring rate. i just didnt know if i could find some adjustable shocks for a deal and if they would help keep me from rubbing on bumps. i dont drive it often, only on nice weekends usually, i just wonder how much ride qaulity will suffer from the adjustables. i mean it by no means rides like a caddy now, and i dont ever expect it to. just dont want it to be damaging rough if thats what they would do

shocks dampen the action of the springs, they have nothing to do with ride height or how much the car body moves around on the suspension, just how long it takes for the movement.

roll your fenders, it's really not that big of a deal.

a panhard bar can be used to re-center your axle, no solid axle mustang without one will have a perfectly centered rearend, there's too much variance in the tolerances of all the parts, especially if the bushings or control arms have been replaced.
