1. Introduction

History of the car, 1994 mustang gt (automatic) with Boss Shinoda package. Badge number BOS-94-003. I've owned the car since 97 and daily drove it in Indiana weather up to 06. Basically my build is to upgrade or replace everything from bumper to bumper. This is a slow build so dont hold your breathe. My plan is to have it driving on the new engine and tranny by summer of 2013 and then add the supercharger during the winter. Basically, Im not planning on being 100% done with it till 2014. Expensive and time consuming, both of which im short on.
The car is just being built for weekend fun and some passes at the dragstrip but nothing competitive.
Found some pics of the exterior work for those not familiar.

2. Rearend

Threads are useless without pics, so let's begin......

Removed the tank and rearend

Remember, I daily drove this through many Indiana winters and heres the proof.

parts014.jpg

Cut out the cancer area and welded in a section from my donor car.
parts013.jpg

Scrubbed the wheel wells and rattle canned them with rubberized paint
parts003-1.jpg

parts012.jpg

Sandblasted the underside up to where the rearseat floor mats would set. Heres before and after pics of one area to give you an idea. This is where the filler neck comes in from the trunk area for those not familiar.
parts018.jpg

parts023-1.jpg

Sandblasted the rear and powder coated the cover, axle ends, and anything else that would unbolt. The main housing is just blasted, primered and painted.

parts016.jpg

parts034.jpg

Underside of the car received 2 coats of por-15 (cellphone pic)

Blasted and powdercoated everything i could unbolt from the underside.
parts009.jpg

Didn't like my springs black so they were also powdercoated.
parts045.jpg

Now I have too much black. Didn't like the fact that my hardwork of sandblasting and powdercoating every piece turned out looking lke I drove the car over a black paint sprayer. I needed seperation and decided to put a topcoat of grey on the underside.

This is a picture of the same area referenced above with the final coat.
parts036-1.jpg

During the removal process I found some pieces that were in pretty bad shape.

parts007.jpg

Replaced the stock upper control arms with new stock ones that I powdercoated. Lower control arms were upgraded to maximum motorsport ones. Shocks were upgraded to bilstein. Brakes will be upgraded to Cobra brakes (already have the larger mounting bracket and moan braces installed on the rear). Sway bar went from stock to a hotchkis with matching front swaybar. I had already upgraded the rear with 4.10 ring and pinion, pro auburn 31 spline diff, T/A performance girdle, and 31 spline superior axles.

Was expecting some fuel fittings to be on my porch today so i could start setting up the fuel but no packages. Got the tank installed but that was it.

Company while sorting bolts. It's hard to tell from the pics but most of the bolts have been converted to 12 points stainless. The kit knocks out about 50% but then you have to measure and order the rest. Downside is that it sucks and most of the time you have to order a 5 pack of bolts for $30 when u just need the one.

Re: My Boss thread

SICK build so far man...I love the attention to detail on the underside...I am definitely going to be refinishing everything on my car once I get my own place and a garage.

I'm assuming those are just his beater wheels that he put on while the body work was done. The 18" chrome bullitts look sick.

Re: My Boss thread

Thanks for all the comments. This will be a slow build but as the weather starts cooling off i'll start working on it again and posting updates. Plenty of parts are showing up but trying to finish up some house projects first.
