Sell it and buy a 5.0 to start with. It's easier and WAY cheaper.

Problem is its really hard to find one i like...
I want a 95 convertible 5sp. but there a little hard to find in my area that arent all rusted out.

The stang i got now is pretty mint besides a few scratches and dings.

Expand your search, buy one from out of state, drive it home.

Phoenix has nice cars like that all the time.

If you're planning a serious enough Twin Turbo or Supercharger setup that would blow a regularly maintained 5.0L, then you're going to be breaking a lot more than just the motor. GTs are cheap enough that it's silly not to just start with one. They're more expensive than V6s but just barely. I've been looking for a Fox body shell to swap a 98 V6 in that I have laying around and I've realized it's a bit silly when I can spend a few hundred more and get a Fox with a 5.0 sitting in it.

I did this swap into my 95 v6.It was a fairly straight foward swap. However, I went carbed which saved me a few $$$, I would honestly say that if I had to do it all over agian I would have just bought a 94-95 gt or a fox body.I was lucky enough to get good deals on some of my parts but I still ended up spending well over a $1k on the swap.I just recently bought a 8.8 rear end this is an important piece that you are gonna want to have with the power you want to make, it can aslo be expensive to purchase.Basically I am saying just get a 94-95 gt or a fox, you are better off.But best of luck with your choice, and if you do the 3.8 to 5.0 swap let me know if you have any questions.

+1 I live in Maine and bought my current Mustang in FL. I bought a one way plane ticket down and drove it home. Other then the cost of what I spend while in FL it cost me nothing but the price of a ticket one way and gas to drive home. Think out side of the box, what your looking for does not always drop in your lap

i bought my last 95 for 700 bucks in Ill. the guy didnt think it would run and the paint is faded. turned out the dizzy was bad lol. I had an extra sitting around too. 95GT: $700 , barrowed my buddys truck: $70 , ranted a trailor: $136 and regular road trip bs: $50 total $956 and 6 hours of my life , its well worth it to look around....

I did the exact same swap almost a year ago. Cheaper than buying a gt? Not for me.. I got the engine, tranny, and all the bs in the middle for roughly $1500. It was a real cut and dry swap in my opinion as well, however if I had the opportunity to redo it all again, I would not. If you are really that interested in the extra 2 cylinders and 1.2L of displacement, then by all means, buy a GT. If you don't mind the 6 banger, then you could easily build it for what you're interested in and it will be a much easier path travelled.

That's my 2 cents.
