I do not know of the Mustang valve but on some european cars what can happen is when you for example bleed brakes you have pressure only on one side of the valve piston. It then moves in the non pressure side end position and can get stuck there.
Normally these cars have a plug in the middle and the center of the valve is conical on both sides. You have to remove the center plug and with a small screwdriver center the piston again. Often there is also a switch as a center plug and if the piston moves off center a warning light comes on indicating problem in one of the brake circuits. Mustang probably does not have this type of prop valve though.
