the harness to my O2 sensor melted in the fire. There was plenty of wire so I ordered a new harness and put it together. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAnd then I remembered that I FORGOT to put the little rubber seals on each wire that are needed to keep it waterproof so I pulled it all back apart and then installed them.

after the t56 swap some of my wiring fell down on the cat and started enough of a fire to take out the ecu harness. I was lucky to catch it when I did. I almost have it all back together now, I hope....

Oh shite that sucks
yup especially when it is your own fault. I have been running wires for nearly 30 years in cars but always IN the car. I Used wire ties to hold up some of the wiring where I should have either rerouted it or made a solid mount for it. All the wiring has been moved now, heat shield covered and hard mounted every 12" or so. It will not happen again.....

Was having issues with my auto meter oil pressure gauge fluctuating and going down to almost zero. I added a ground to the body of the sending unit and it appears to be fixed!

I did a thing today...

Put some quick latches on the Saleen S281 rear bumper to stabilize it, keep it flush to the body, and keep it from flapping in the wind.

Just a thought. Since the engine block should be grounded to the chassis, would that not be a likely problem to crop up among other things? Ignition, charging, etc...
Might check to make sure that the engine block still has sufficient ground to the chassis.

Yes, the engine must be grounded to the chassis but not to the battery negative. And it's better to have sensitive things like sensors all star-grounded together to the negative battery because of the huge voltage drops associated with fans, starter, etc. And when you connect the engine into the rest of the ground loop (neg battery and everything associated with it) you introduce strange ground reference levels and then things start acting weird. Bottom line, keep the engine grounded to only the chassis and everything else to the neg battery.

I spent a little more time on the wiring. It is all double insulated and hard mounted every 12-14" now. I had to stop as ran out of insulation for the O2 wiring but it is on the way.

Agree butttt I installed it into a sandwich adapter between the block and the oil filter made of aluminum.

Did you clean the connection prior to this, sand the paint/dirt off? when I added a ground to mine, I used one of the bolts that holds the starter on. NOTHING in the car draws current like the starter and it never made sense to me to have the ground on the ther side of the block on the 5.0 at least. It is also easy to get to with shorty headers on.
