You know... if you let a Dollar Store bag blow into grass on the side of a road, it will sprout into a Dollar Store.

Apparently... Fords are the same.
It started with a Ranger.
I bought the Mustang last summer. Also last summer, my wife lost both of her parents.
Today, we brought home their 2011 F-150.

So now... I'm a Dodge guy... with three Fords in the yard.
God help us.

I replaced the visor vanity lights with LEDs. Was going to do the passenger side also but something is broken with the visor mirror cover - it won't lift up all the way.

I just replaced one of the hood bumpers. The old one was missing it's rubber top.

How did you make out?

Went out first round to my buddies turbo ls swapped fox that got runner up but did well after and beat a ton of cars . stick shift hellcat , supercharged c6 , ls swapped nova, procharged chevy ss . I can’t wait to get some drag oriented suspension in the car . Fastest guy only went 6.80’s on the terrible surface we were on .

I'm not a drag racer, but isn't that full cage requirements for that time?

Oh yea the faster guys had 8.50 cert cages . My cars getting a 8.50 cert cage over winter too . I’ve gotta new motor in the works should be done before seasons end . This is 8th mile so 7.35 you need a 6pt bar and 6.50’s I think you need a 8pt . I’m just doing a 8pt cage over winter . With my new combo and suspension work I’ll for sure need a 6pt so might as well have room to grow .

So what are cage requirements for 1/8 mile? I know convertibles are different and ours will never be that fast to need a cage. My Chevelles best 1/8 mile was IIRC 6.95. Best 1/4 was 11.69 but that was with a broken lifter, 2 actually. My link bar on a pair of lifters broke and the roller lifters rotated and wiped both lobes off the cam. I was figuring the car would break into the 10's once the bugs were worked out but this was a fresh motor and combo that I never did sort out. After the lifters broke I tried pulling them but they were mushroomed so I yanked that motor and threw my 327 in that I was gonna build for my '66 Chevy II. That 327 ran 12.0's in the Chevelle. I had a 6 pt cage in the Chevelle. From memory that was good till 9's but this was back in the mid 90's.

That 454 was an original LS7 but had 12.5:1's with the factory square port heads, aluminum intake (forget which one) and a Lunati .685/.692 lift roller with about 280* duration @ .050. THM400 with 8" ATI 4500 stall converter and 4.56's in a KTRE 9" Ford rear.

IIRC my 60's were around 1.50. Had 4.56's. I didn't run 1/8th too often. The car would pull the front wheels about a foot and carry them about 50'. It was an IHRA A stock national record holder in the 70's with a 427 4 speed with 5.88's. Guy named John Kunsak owned it (Fred Kress drove it towards the end). The car was parked around 1981 and I bought it in 1991 or '92. I only got the body and frame. Me and a buddy threw it together in 3 weeks with a stock 454, powerglide and 10" converter with 3.73's. Ran 12.96 @ 103. Over that winter upgraded to a THM400 and 11" converter and ran 12.95 @ 104...lol. Then I had a buddy that had a Ford EXP with a 509 BBC that ran 8's street legal. He had a 454 he was selling so I grabbed it. It was .030 over with a .670 lift Ultradyne 4500-8500RPM. I ran that 1 weekend at the Halloween Classic at Norwalk, Ohio and broke 2 valve springs running 11.95. Pulled it after that and went .060 over with the Lunati cam mentioned above and ran 11.69 but broke the lifter connector bar.
Because it was a class car they had the suspension dialed in. It had aluminum bushing instead of rubber or urethane. That car would pull the front wheels on street tires on the street. It hooked! They had to run an 8" tire so they had to work the suspension.

This was the 1/8th mile track with the big 454.

Salem, Ohio 1/4 mile. Think this was the big motor too but can't remember. These were from back around 1995
