I am afraid to know the answer but too curious to not ask, how much are you guys paying for gas now? I apologize that our "president" caused it, please forgive us....
Today the "super 95" was 1,83 €/liter, that is 8,04 $/gallon. How much is it in your state now?

holy ffffff we are complaining about $4-5 a gallon depending on regular/premium. If it ever gets up to $8 we will be in big big trouble here...

but hey that is the price to win the war = sarcasm

One of the issues is the tax ranges between the EU and the U.S. Nearly half of the EU fuel pricing is taxation, ours is significantly less. Still doesn't help the fact that it's up $1-$2 as you mentioned. I remember a few years ago in europe before the wars the fuel costs were nauseating at best.

Also if we rewind back to ~2008 I remember pumping 4.35 a gallon in indiana at university. That was rouuuuughhhhhh. Gives us perspective of the highs and lows of fuel costs.

The highest price I tanked was about 9$/gallon, a few weeks after the Iran war started. Since then they reduced the tax on fuel a bit and forced dealers to limit their margins. Helped a bit, but not much.
Fuel over here was of course always a lot more expensive than in the US.

when I took a roadtrip for the lambo drive I saw prices from 4.15 all the way up to 5/ gallon depending on location. As mentioned it makes a big difference with taxes or how far the next gas station is.

It's hard to compare fuel prices at the pump, it's all a shell game (or a Shell game?).

Anyway since that talk belongs in the echo chamber I'm going to just show what I did yesterday

Doesn't look like a lot but the wiring is nearly all done. It's still a little messy because I want to run the car and make sure everything functions first before finishing off the wiring looms. Kinda terrified that I made a mistake and will have to unwrap one of the ones I already did.

I also left a couple vestigial parts of the OE loom in place that probably don't serve any purpose anymore but my head was spinning flipping back and forth in the wiring diagrams. None of the diagrams just show a specific loom and what's in it, if the same physical loom contains circuits from three different unrelated systems then those are each on their own page even if they pass through the same connector so there is a lot of flipping back and forth, playing "Where's Waldo" with circuit numbers, etc.

The '85 Mustang throttle cable should be here today, following that it should be a matter of pouring in fresh motor oil, reconnecting the battery and turning the key. Fingers crossed!

Removed the wiring harness from the 99 parts car and unbolted the h pipe from my kids 01. He pulled the AC compressor off and almost got the power steering pump off. Eff that 4th, hidden bolt. I literally hate that thing. Took 2 minutes just to get that one bolt.

2 minutes? That’s nothing (lol)… just wait till you have to shave down an open or closed end wrench to get into a tight space. That’s a good time (roll eyes)

I didn't bother putting that bolt back in

I put on the parchment steering column shroud and swapped the gem module in the 01. The wipers aren’t acting stupid anymore but the turn signals haven’t worked since the dash swap and it still doesn’t make a tone when any of the doors or trunk opens. I’ll keep digging.

When I first got it started, it bucked a lot especially on throttle tip in. The fuel trims were crazy lean, adding a lot of fuel. I found the hvac control head wasn’t plugged in causing a huge vacuum leak. It still had a little buck but wasn’t as bad but I noticed it was throwing an maf code. Come to find out it was unplugged. Plugged it in and she runs like a top now. I’m slowly swapping the parchment interior in. I have a new headliner on the way so until then I can’t fully install the new interior. For all who remember I swapped a parchment headliner in but it somehow ripped and I figure it’s best to grab an abs backed headliner for longevity.

Today I finished up the wiring.. at least, electrically if not cosmetically. I didn't want to finalize the wrap and tuck etc. until I'm sure it's all working.

Did first key-on-engine-off, verified fuel pump runs, verified all the sensors are present, checked everything again and got first start-up. It starts and idles, though the idle still is going to need a little work but that's expected.

Now I get to stop working on the engine and fabricate a mount for the electric power steering pump, and wait for the new 6AN hoses to arrive. Super exciting stuff.
