Couple of pics from yesterday. Overall good time. Still need some upper end tuning but got really close. Experimenting with acceleration tables. Otherwise, a clean day for me, others no so much. Last session I ended mine one lap early, good thing too, a C5 Corvette found the outside tire/concrete wall after T3 and totalled the entire front end. I may have been close to that incident if I proceeded. I'll work on my videos this week. Still have to finish Thunder Hill ones.

Coming out of T6 up Rahal Straight. Open road, smooth sailing. I take that corner at 70-75mph. What a rush in compression and HP!

The 911 was much faster, but given all the new technologies over my homebuilt project, I'm o.k. with that. Wonder how the driver would do going back about 60yrs in technology?

Definitely agree on that. What engine/displacement are you running in the Cobra? I’ve always wondered how much fuel you need to take to the track?

SBF 347 Ford Boss Block Big Bore. Holley HP/Terminator (not the newer model). I can easily run all day (4-5 sessions of 20min.) on one tank (16gal). I get around 7-8 mpg on track.

Taking the car to my tuner (Full Throttle Customz) right after work today, around 1:30. If they can get right on it, I’ll wait for it there. If not, UBER home. I’ll share diagnosis and results. I need to pass CA smog. Initial smog test run showed me about 5x the max on CO2. Smog guy suspects an injector may be stuck open. We’ll see what the wide band says. Fingers crossed it isn’t something too expensive.

Quick update: I guess there’s more to it than just replacing and bolting on the EGR, TPS, IAC sensor and IAC motor! Tuner will fix all that. He also said that the smog check guy shouldn’t have even ran a test with the CHECK ENGINE light on because the car goes into a “sleep” mode that runs rich. So, I left the car with him and hope to hear back tomorrow.
