Semi busy day. Changed out the melted weatherpack plugs for my fuel pumps. Yes, the issue has already been resolved. Swapped in a new 270amp alternator with wire upgrades. And realigned the tailpipes as one must've taken a hit since it was sitting high.

Just installed a firewall adjuster and quadrant in the 02. You can’t pay me enough to do it again lol.

I tried to start mine today for the first time in 2 months but walked away disappointed. Checked the plugs and they were wet with fuel, timing light flashed to make me think there was spark but it would not fire up at all, just crank...

what did you expect? its a ford!!!

Can't just blame Ford I put it together
After test running it it decided to leak oil and coolant
I almost got it tho
Interior is next once I have the engine and other things completed

bro, this was not a reply to you, but still, its a ford....
the manufacturer figured out the problem, circled it and colored it blue so you could easily find the issue when something goes wrong....

What a long morning. The other day I got a few things from LMR. Man I love that place, I don’t shop anywhere else really.

The defroster vents went in easily and look good

The cai was a nightmare. Everything that could go wrong did. The coupler from the tb to the cai was too small for my 75mm tb so I had to use one I had lying around. At first I couldn’t get the maf wires through the fender. The plastic push pin for the fender liner wouldn’t come off so I pulled the liner around it without breaking anything. I had to pretty much use one hand to hold the air filter up and tighten the clamp. I got a nice paper cut on my shin lol. And I scratched up the intake while moving it around the fender. Geez.

Then I installed the tune. Its only a canned tune but I was very impressed with the results. I already had a tb and plenum and the intake had the silencer removed so I wasn’t expecting much but I could feel a difference in throttle response and power throughout the rpms. With the ac on it felt great and the drop in rpms when shifting into 5th wasn’t like before. I’m impressed. I only got it because it saved me money on the tuner and intake because I got the combo and I’ll eventually need it for when I coyote swap the car.

Now for the JLT intake. I always thought it looked cool but I’ve been in the 2v world for years and know cold air intakes aren’t worth anything except for sound and looks. On asthetics alone the JLT looks like crap in person. Maybe with some tire shine it’ll look better. The heat shield is made out of thin plastic and looks cheesy. Overall its just not what I expected. If it was 150 or less I’d buy it again but at its current price definitely not.

Also I’ve been doing some touch up painting on spots that have gotten bad like the side scoops and random paint ships. Even for a rattle can I think it looks pretty good. What do you guys think?

Jealous in so many ways! The weather there! its butt cold here this week. 2nd the SCT tuner...i've been looking at those. I was debating the JLT and decided i didn't want to mess with the in the fender deal, so i ended up with the KN FIPK cold air. Looks like you used Duplicolor paint? what prep did you do before painting? Just curious. I painted a fender on a VW i had recently and used this company https://www.automotivetouchup.com/ to match the paint and i was amazed at how the paint matched almost perfectly.

I’ve looked at that place for touchup paint for my 87 Grand Marquis, good to know. And the weather its a blessing and a curse. I hate the heat, it was fine when I was little but as an adult it sucks. And my meds make me sweat and burn easily on top of the heat alone.

Did you buy a tuner? I recommend them since you’ll need one eventually if you’re planning on modding your car.

As fat as prep just the basic prep, clean, tack cloth... no sanding or priming. Yeah its not professional prep but for those small areas it should hold up. I cheaped out on the roof and painted over it with little prep and the paint came out badly. There were streaks and now its peeling. I’m not sure if it was from the lack of primer or high humidity while painting but its fine. I plan on vinyl wrapping the roof anyway.

Thanks. Has taken a lot of time and effort to rebuild it to this point. Start Photo and almost finished photo.

I'm still partial to the 98 cobra wheels. Those look good on that body. I just always wonder why ford didn't do all the cobra wheels starting in 94 in 9" wide. Oh well, still like them.
