Started building the stock 302 to put back into my 1988 LX (49K mile original car).
I plan to take the 331 stroker out next week and put it back almost 100% stock. I did do the B-303 cam to give it a little "something" but overall a fresh stock build.
Honed block.
New rings, rod/main/cam bearings, freeze plugs, etc.
New oil pump, B-303 camshaft and timing chain.
Stock heads, rockers, pushrods, lifters.

Will have a video up soon of beating the 331 before removing it and then installing + driving the new stocker.

Checking the head flange at work on the surface plate.. seen a little heat... will either mill or replace the flange if it's super warped. Reassemble with a remflex gasket. Kind of over the turbo life lol

.0025" slides in on one primary, can't fit a human hair in. I think it's probably okay. I'm going to try a remflex crush gasket this time. If it leaks I'm taking the turbo kit off and selling it, not worth the squeeze since I don't race anymore.

I was happy just to get out of the house and go for a drive today.
It’s either aches and pains, weather or both that keeps us from a nice drive. But, that “nice drive” can seem to have a rehabilitative effect: just cruising down your favorite road, hearing that motor purring along, just you, your car and your thoughts. Invokes all 5 senses. That’s the magic of these older cars.++

100% And also why I would rather be slow and loud in an SN instead of "fast, quiet and comfy" in an electric car.

Brought her to a car detailing shop, they touched up and painted the torn vinyl seat.
Before / after:

They also polished the front right corner of the bumper. I painted it myself during the winter in the garage, but the clear coat became matte somehow. Now it's quite okay.

The only time I can get away from my house and taking care of my dying mother is when my bipolar brother decides to grace us with his presence and "help". His idea of helping is to unpack his laptop, and then put on some headphones and act like he can't hear when mom pushes her wireless doorbell to say she needs something, and lets us do all the work around him. At this point anytime he walks in, I walk out just so I can get out. Tomorrow afternoon I am supposed to get a couple of hours of freedom while dad cooks him dinner. I am not cookin for him anymore and even dad has cut it back to an invite only event that is not 4-5 nights a week. He likes to stop by after he gets off work just long enough to get a plate dirty and then leave and I am not supporting that anymore.
