The only time I can get away from my house and taking care of my dying mother is when my bipolar brother decides to grace us with his presence and "help". His idea of helping is to unpack his laptop, and then put on some headphones and act like he can't hear when mom pushes her wireless doorbell to say she needs something, and lets us do all the work around him. At this point anytime he walks in, I walk out just so I can get out. Tomorrow afternoon I am supposed to get a couple of hours of freedom while dad cooks him dinner. I am not cookin for him anymore and even dad has cut it back to an invite only event that is not 4-5 nights a week. He likes to stop by after he gets off work just long enough to get a plate dirty and then leave and I am not supporting that anymore.

Sorry to hear about your mom. I went through watching my father AND mother, I get it. You need time to "get away". I did too.
Family is very important. Why alienate your brother? At least he comes by. Some families don't even get that lucky.

Yeah, seems every family has at least one. We were taking care of my mother-in-law for years, living with my wife and me alone, she passed this January at 99. We did everything without batting an eye and only left her alone when we went shopping at 5:30am while she was still sleeping. She was a gem and a real mom to me. Wife's sister would visit 2 to 3 times a year (6hr drive) for a couple weeks to help my wife get a rest. Their brother was a waste of time, never ever did he show up (2hrs away) and called on mom's b-day, xmas and maybe mothers day. Everything was about him. He was even asking for money on her last days. Total loser and not my family but both sisters won't give him a thing. So, I know your frustration, and at least on my end, I can tell him to take a hike because he does'nt have mom to lean on anymore.

Guy sounds like a dick. He young?
he is 4 yrs older but he is just one of those guys that does not want to be happy and has just given up trying and would rather find a reason to complain about. You can always find a reason if you want one. For years I have been fighting the urge to say hello to him like the secretary in ferris buehlers day off "Well hello and who is bothering you now?

if he could just be a little help from time to time instead of just adding drama(always upset) and just creating more work for us cooking for him for him it might help. The few times we were in a bit of a crunch and dad/I needed to leave at the same time and asked if he could come by to help watch mom he was too inebriated to make the 4 min drive, and too lazy to walk the 15 mins it would take. But then again it was 11 am I mean what can you expect? He only works 4 days a week so it isn't like he is working 70 hrs a week and too tired to contribute. Just too lazy. The first few months we were happy to have him over for dinner but it got annoying to watch him come by for 20-30 mins, finish eating and then take off. Dad has cut back to 2 nights a week at most and that is the time I get to use to get out of the house and have 2 people here to help mom if needed, and if he sticks around.

professional guest I think is a very good description, sounds better than ungrateful asshole.... I am not sure when he changed and I think that is the biggest disappointment now is just to know who he was vs who he is now.

Installed poly steering rack bushings, installed the rack, installed front control arms, installed new radiator, installed new battery tray and then had my cherry picker decide to just release pressure and "set" the engine on the ground right after I lowered it back down from install height. Then went and watched "Obsession". That was a creepy ass movie.

I put my passenger header, merge pipe and starter back in the car with a remflex gasket and some rtv red on the V bands. I'll try starting it in an hour or so(when it's socially acceptable to start a noisy car lol) to check for leaks.

... I guess this will determine if I am finished with the turbo game or not. Frankly, I think I am. I'm at a point where I would much rather tinker either the v10 than even think about hooking up that method setup/solenoid and getting the green car retuned.

As much as I love turbos, I also do love 10 freaking pistons singing at full song. I hope she starts and runs fine. If not, bring on the cubes!!

Shoved my newly purchased endoscope into the passenger air vent to see if there was a blockage as it's quite weak compared to the others. Nope, I was able to feed it all the way straight round to the centre vents (quite strange looking at myself on the screen through the centre vent!).

Airflow seemed Ok with the vent removed. Noticed that the foamy stuff was just falling apart so removed it and put some stick-back foam padding I had round where it was. Not a full fix, but at least a 50% improvement I would say...

Well it seems like I don't hear the leak I used to on throttle blip. Maybe a ti y bit. The header to Vee band has a little leao but that's small potatoes to fix. Just needs another day to put it up. Scrape the dried goop out of the vee band and reassemble with new goop. Ill put the tire on, drop the car and take it for a test drive since it was most noticeable underload preboost build. Going on vacation tomorrow. The previous 6 weeks I have been away 3 of which on work trips. Been crazy.

If it works it works. If not.. whatever.lol

Turbo for the win. You got it figured out!
I love the way my turbo setup sounds around town. I don't think I could give it up.

Yeah this car probably will never see the v10 since it has a forged shortblock, ported heads/cams/P51 intake on it. If I ditched the turbo i would change cams to something choppier for theatrics and put a blower of some kind on it. Doesn't make sense to completely reinvent that wheel if you know what I mean. :) just too much time, sweat and money in it. V10 I'll most likely find a roller to cut up

Yesterday, I decided to pull the radio bezel and paint it to match the rest of the dash. I think it came out decent. I realized after I pulled the tape that I taped off the center section between the vents so it’s still dark charcoal lol. I’ll fix it eventually.

I think it looks good with the charcoal in the vent unit - looks slimmer.

I'll admit. It does sound cool without being potentially overbearing like a centri blower vented to atmosphere. Those setups have ALL of the theatrics.. I do like them a lot. The turbo outside of chasing leaks forever and dealing eith horrible exhaust pipe clearances is great. Smooth, makes way more power, not irritatingly loud or annoying, great fuel economy, likes long gears so you're not screaming at 3k rpm @80 on the interstate. A lot of perks. Just been a never ending series of hurdles.

You'll get there. It's well worth it.
