Here it is getting ready for the COP conversion and install of the billet PS tank

While I have it apart also changing belt, radiator hoses (can see new upper in place already) and cleaning and/or repainting a few other pieces

For right now the valve covers are on hold but that could change

I had an OCD moment, I found a couple small places where I didn't think they were "smooth" enough so I sanded them down again

anything from 1996-2004 V8 should work with our years.

Anyways, keep us posted! I'd love to see this as a real build thread ;-)

Yes, the tank is a Moroso, it was listed as 99-04 but the mount points are exactly the same

Here's how it looks now painted and ready to install

pstank.jpg

PS tank bracket was absolutely disgusting, soaked it, scrubbed it, soaked it again then hit it with the wire brush before it was ready for paint. Looks all purty now tough. Was planning to cut it up since I don't need the coil pack mount anymore but now thinking it will be a perfect place for an oil catch can

Thanks, I figure a nice black catch can would fit in there nicely

Catch can ordered, will be here next week. Figure even if black doesn't look right I can just paint it to march the other parts.

Nice! I'd like to see how it turns out. Seeing all the threads on here I almost had decided you couldn't have a clean engine bay without welding everything up and tucking every wire.

Bracket and PS tank on, painted coolant tank and cap on

Putting the lower coolant hose on today so I can get the car off the jackstands and focus on the COP conversion now

You don't see many people doing the wire tucks on modular powered cars

Can't tell in the pic but I put on the new gatorback belt too, thought it was easy to change belts before but when you have the brackets, coolant tanks and other pieces removed it's downright simple

How did you prep the coolant tank for paint? Awesome stuff you've done.

Can't do better than a Gatorback. Imo best belt for the money.

Degreased, scuffed, washed again, primed, painted, cleared

Had a gatorback on there already, just figured it would be a good idea to do it again while iI had everything apart and will hold onto the old one as a spare

Car is back on the ground, coolant in, PS fluid in, coil packs off, wires off. Changing plugs then will be installing COPs.
