I thought the 05+ cars weighed like 35-3600.....but apparently theyre more?

I only one I ever saw scaled was a Saleen with an auto, optioned up, and 20's, it weighed 4120 or something like that with the driver.

wow...thats a heavy ass car

Ran 11's, so I don't think it mattered, lol.

I've never driven an S197 but I did go with my GF when she test drove one. She booted it around a little bit, it felt like it ran about like my Z28, maybe a bit slower. It was a 5spd car. Felt like it really wanted more gear. They definately have an "interesting" feel. The styling is weak in my opinion. They look boxy and rehashed. I want my own Mustang, not one that looks like the crap my dad drove when he was my age.

I don't think I would want one for a race car but I would sure as hell drive one for 100k miles. The other half of that is that they are brand new, and there is really nothing like a brand spankin new car.

My car weighed 3,4XX on the scales last year at the track. That was w/ me out of it. The 351W and 4 point cage added some weight. I have a rear seat delete that I want to get done. Already took the dog bone off. I have not weighed it in "race form" W/ the Welds on. Id like to get it down to 3,4XX w/ me in it but that will take some work.

What year was the s197? They originally(2005-2006) had 3.55s standard in the rear for gearing, but changed back to i think 3.33 or 3.31, can't remember. They did that not due to power, but due to diffs getting gear noises and howling coming from the rear end, so they decreased the ratio in 2007. I can vogue for the power they have, as I have said, I am only 16 and my brother let's me drive his new S197 he got in August and it is an really smooth car, drives better than my parents tribute imo. Like our car, and basically any other stocker diff, more gear is always better, don't fear the gear!

I don't know where the popping your talking about is coming from, I don't really have any. I do have 3.55's, and my cars a prem but sure as hell not a saleen, which is a whole hell of alot more urethane and filler.

you probably dont know about the "hot rod lincolns"
:coolsmiley:

seriously, mark 7s and mark 8s are awesome cars....mark 7s got the HO 5.0, and the mark 8s got the 4.6 4v....both cars can be made into sleepers and both ride on air.

Even in stock form you can run a lot of cars in them.

Do you really think the Saleen package add's 500 lb's? Just go scale the damn thing, it's heavy, jeez.

It was an '05. My GF commented on how much slower it was than my 12 year old F-Body. :eek:uttahere:

Don't these things stock run like 9.0s at 78ish?

voila, proof enough. Thats what I was going off of.

These cars a smooth, makes it more comfortable to a degree, however when you go with longtubes, cams, bolt ons, geared, it feels much like a big geared 4v cobra. I'm not trying to say its better, and by no means is it. Its a whole different car between fox chassis car, and its up to the person to decide what they want. When properly done, they feel more like a sports car then an older mustang. Oh well, never meant to cause shit to fly lol

If that's what you were going off of, why didn't you say it? Go scale it. I somehow don't think a body kit and 20' wheels make up for 600 lbs
