i'm sure your on the fine line between doing us all a favor and being a pain in the ass. Yes i will enjoy my barn, with high speed, a miller light fridge, and all the car parts and the knowledge of how to put them on, while you go smoke yourself to death :). Like I said, stop being a tool, get off the computer before you hurt yourself, and end the fight you've already lost. Thanks, mkaayyyyyyyyyy

Wikipedia is NOT a reliable source of information. Peirod. End of story.

Well Mr, then name a more reliable source of information than Wikipedia?

...and you can overdose on Marijuana.... if you knew anything about life then you would know this :hammer:

Handz, I usually stay out of these bash thread, cause I think it's all pointless, but this is a pretty ignorant statement. I don't mean that as an insult, ignorant is just the proper word to use.

AT my school, if internet research was allowed, Wikipedia was not. Why? Because it's probably one of the most UNreliable sources of information on the planet - If we are discussing "real" information.

EbscoHost, Online Libraries, Encyclopedia Britannica, etc... are much more informative and accurate sources of information, and their websites are updated often.

Wikipedia is only unreliable because anyone can post anything without it being certified and fact checked.

Pay Pal works for the dollar...

At my college we have the same rules.... but Wikipedia is allowed to a certain extent.

wikipedia has ALOT of stuff available that the paying Encyclopedia dont offer. Yes online libraries are VERY accurate and never wrongs and a truly guaranteed source...they arnt able to keep up with the real world as fast a wikipedia.

Open Source does have its advantages

Passenger - As far as I know it was a regular S-281, alhtough it did have a blower on it, I heard it mentioned it was a Vortech. I honsetly don't know about the car, i was there with my own car and friends, just saw it on the scale, and later saw it click off a mid 11, 11.6 I think. The weight got me at first, but the weight and the time made it stick in my head, that's honkin for the weight.

UPDATE: On April 16th, 2005 I ran a new best of 12.03 at 112mph at the SSOTN Spring Nats

That was as close as he got to 11's before he blew his motor and started on a new build up.

thats why weight on matters to a certain point. Take lightnings for example, brian can attest to heavy ass trucks runnin 10s while being daily driveable. I'll take my extra weight for the comfort and style that comes with it, and just add a little bit more power in order to make up for it. To much aftermarket research has been done and put out parts that take up the slack the weight caused, and allows these cars to perform, or even out perform older body styles. To each their own, i just think calling it a slow lard ass of a car is pretty ignorant of that cars capabilities.

I wonder if Steven's S197 Weights more than Brian's Lightening? :dunno:

...Be pretty interesting to find out.

Yea, and that same 10 second lightning would be a nine second lightning on a diet.

Theres no way around physics man.

A lighter car/truck will be faster with traction of course.

You strip 500 pounds off your car steven and you will be a hell of a lot faster

Thats the truth, I know physics but theres also a balance. If you add weight, you need to add more power to maintain the speed. The reason why I have all the weight, is purely because its comfort weight, If I deleted alot of things, true i'd be alot faster, but also i'd be pretty damn bare bones in the car. lol. I enjoy it as it is, and it running low 13's with minor stuff done to it is fine for me for now. It will eventually go on a small diet when I do stuff like aluminum driveshaft, mostly replacement parts that are lighter and better performing pieces.
