Yea, and that same 10 second lightning would be a nine second lightning on a diet.

Theres no way around physics man.

A lighter car/truck will be faster with traction of course.

You strip 500 pounds off your car steven and you will be a hell of a lot faster

Thats the truth, I know physics but theres also a balance. If you add weight, you need to add more power to maintain the speed. The reason why I have all the weight, is purely because its comfort weight, If I deleted alot of things, true i'd be alot faster, but also i'd be pretty damn bare bones in the car. lol. I enjoy it as it is, and it running low 13's with minor stuff done to it is fine for me for now. It will eventually go on a small diet when I do stuff like aluminum driveshaft, mostly replacement parts that are lighter and better performing pieces.

ehh, more like low 14s with those 20s man

lol...im not saying to strip it....just stating the fact that weight is a huge factor.

Why do you think those hondas are rockets with 200 Wheel hp?

they weigh 2000 pounds

a lot of people seem to struggle with these concepts :hammer:

people get too hop'd up on the Power game to realize that there biggest enemy is Weight

The biggest enemy is driver error. Look at the link I posted up on Pauls 95 Vert that ran 12.03 in 3,700 lb trim. He did it w/ out weight reduction and on a H/C/I 302, not the first choice out there for a killer power combo.

the 20's are heavy, i do know that. I have the stock wheels, as well as lighter weight bullet wheels with DR's. I was talking low 13's on the DR's :) lol big difference. Good thing is the 20's are the same height as my stock wheels. I plan on doing something else wheel wise, but for now they look better then stockers.

Changing tires and wheels sucks. I like my car to be fast all the time. :hammer:

KillerCanary on Stangnet ran really low 12's on a H/C/I 302 Vert

Got a link,video? im curious,really curious.
Thanks

UPDATE: On April 16th, 2005 I ran a new best of 12.03 at 112mph at the SSOTN Spring Nats

That was as close as he got to 11's before he blew his motor and started on a new build up.

355 RWHP on a 331 is not bad at all

This thread is nothing but SRT Handz unsubstantiated bullshit. It has nothing to do with figuring anything out.

Be prepared for a Big Surprise..... Most people on here know that a Sn95 will out handle a HUGE boat very easily

Lets not forget that an SN95 is a boat too. :thumb:

actually, it sounds more to me like 2 kids arguing about whos got a bigger Pecker. Fact of matter is, they're two different cars, with the same name. They both Have pros and cons, and thats that. plain and simple. Get over yourselves.

According to Car and Driver:

2008 Mustang GT Coupe Premium - 3483 lbs
2008 Mustang GT Convertible Premium - 3601 lbs
2008 Mustang GT500 - 4040 lbs

http://www.caranddriver.com/buying_guide/ford/mustang/2008_ford_mustang_coupe+tab-specs.html

Maybe one of the oldest car magazines around is waaaaay off and we should rely on SRT Handz in all his infinite wisdom. :blah2: :blah2: :blah2:

Long story short... ONCE AGAIN HANDZ IS FULL OF **IT AND COMPLETELY WRONG. What a surprise.

Paul.
