So for those that install the torktech kit.

DO NOT try to force the intercooler tubes in with the bolt on the manifold. The metal of the torktech manifold is notoriously shitty, and it WILL rip out. I managed to save the day by chasing the threads carefully with another bolt. However, it's weakened, and when I build my motor I'll have to helicoil it. More on that note, they say do not use oil on the o-rings. I suggest you DO. It's the only way to get them to slip into place. I lost an o-ring either into the intercooler (where I'll never be able to get it without cutting apart the intercooler) or into the lower intake manifold (where it should burn up no problem).

Also, affixing the blower to the manifold is a pain in the ass. They do not make a gasket, so you must goop permatex everywhere and hope for the best.

So, after that freaking nightmare, I have finished mounting the blower, and am in the process of final assembly. I believe the car will start up either tomorrow or the next day. Hopefully everything is sealed back up and good to go.

Didn't get to do any work on it today because of school stuff. Hopefully tomorrow.

nice man. super nice

Thanks guys. And thanks Chris for the moral support. Yesterday I stopped being a ***** and slapped the rest of the parts on. Fired up after a few tries and runs great. Much better than before, I must have had some hidden vac leaks that got taken care of on the rebuild. The blower sounds very different, it has a faint whine to it even at idle like my 04 does.

The only thing left is to bleed the brakes. I left the lines off over a few days and apparently 'gravity drained' even the master cylinder.. DOH. I'm sure that will take some time, but it's easy work really. I still drove it around the block hahaha.

Hopefully, I'll get a chance to snap some pictures tomorrow. :headbang:

Annnddd... rain on picture day. :p *bleep* Oklahoma weather. Got the re-tune scheduled for the week of 3/20.

Thanks for the compliment 9838. Keeping a car clean I've discovered requires it being broken down in the garage.

Retune is coming up next week --

Fixed a nasty vibration in the front of the car.. turns out the rotors were warped. I don't know how I always end up doing that????

I'm going to be brave and drive the car to Dallas instead of towing it!

smells like victory in this thread!

Thanks fellas!

Nothing like a good drive (made it to Dallas) to sniff out some latent issues!

Ran a little hot in traffic (autometer gauge reading 200; PLX Kiwi w/ Dash Command reading 192)
FIX: Have Mishimoto radiator waiting in Norman

Really hard to start the first time.. Once it starts it runs great
FIX: Hopefully this is just something in the tune that will be taken care of this week

Shifts really hard
FIX: Want a street tune with the line pressure turned down (already have a flip chip)

Idler Pullies squealing a ***** this morning
FIX: Have plastic temp replacement from O'Reillys already

Gauge cluster FUBAR - Tach reads 5,000 RPM and the right turn signal indicator light wont turn off
FIX: No idea yet, maybe total replacement.

LOL Headlight fell off while driving
FIX: Just ordered new header panel (old plastic cracked.)

I love cars!

Thanks brother! Hopefully I wont, because I don't want the title to reflect "not actual miles." :(

I have a couple more things I'm going to try, and if you still have the cluster, I'll definitely come to you before ebay or anything.

In other news, I have ZERO hot rods at my place in Norman.

ZERO. I'm going to lose my mind. The Cobra is still in Dallas, and the GT is now at True Street Motorsports.. likely for a week or two (although they are really fast). I am so bored, I already installed new headlights in the 99 suburban tow rig.. and I'm looking at exhaust haha. Can't help myself.
