Smells fantastic! Lol and no forgetting the timing wheel. I have it with the crank bolt.

Ran into an issue though. The ol screwdriver trick to get the followers on is not working. I believe it's because I am putting the Ford GT followers on stage 2 springs. That and the bigger lobes of the cam. I think I have to get a spring compressor tool

Loosen the cams and lay all the followers in place, the tighten the cam down all the way across the head evenly. Or, compress the oil out of the lash adjusters.

I was thinking that this morning on the way to the shop. lol bleeding the air out of the adjusters sucked and took forever. I will leave those filled up. I'm going to take my chain tensioners off to put slack back in the chain and loosen the cams up. Before I start though I'll put the crank at 9 o'clock [emoji1303]

That'll work. With the crank key at 9 the timing dot is close to 6 so keep your cams close to where they time and you won't have to move them much.

Use heat and hot oil to bleed and pump lashers. Makes the process 10x easier.

I have my crank at 9 but my RH cam timing dot is at 10 o'clock and myLH cam is at 11 o'clock

Well, how did the weekend turn out for you?

Hey Warrior, it went well [emoji1303] but with the motor... I put my crank at 9 oclock but my cams aren't where you said they be so I held off.

I thought I remember the crank dot being closer to 6 with key at 9. Either way, your crank dot is close to 6. Roll the engine till the crank dot is at 6 and double check your alignment. You should be good to go though, your timing looks correct. After double checked, roll the engine a bunch of times by hand and make sure you dont have and piston to valve contact.

By the crank dot you mean the chain timing dot on the crank? That is at the 5 o'clock position.

97stanger sent me this pic of his motor (keyway at 9 o'clock)

Yes I mean the timing dot on the crank gears. Putting the key at 9 puts the engine in "safe zone" where all the pistons are below the deck. You can time like that (just like you did) or time it with the crank timing mark at 6, which is the way I do it.

How you have it timed right here is what I am referring to.

Ooo ok cool. I'm with you now. I'm going turn my crank key to 9 o'clock to get the pistons below deck and then remove my timing chains. Then remove the cams, install the followers and adjusters, then reinstall the cams [emoji1303]

Yes sir, timing is good. I just have to put the crank at 9 o'clock, removing the timing chains and cams, install the followers and adjusters and then reinstall the cams. My confusion was over getting the crank in the safe spot so I don't hit the pistons when bolting the cams down with the followers and adjusters installed. Thank you both for all your help!
