98Gt Build

So I was driving my 98 Gt the other day and I started to hear a knocking noise coming out of the engine. I have a vortech supercharger on it and its running the stock boost. I end up taking it to the shop and was told the bad news. Now I need a whole new shortblock. I am going to keep the vortech and I don't want to run a ton of boost. I'm thinking about keeping it around 10lbs. Do you guys have any suggestions. I contacted DSS and they quoted me 7700 for a long block with ported heads and Anderson Ford cams. This also comes with forged rods, crank, and Pistons. Any other suggestions on what to do with the rebuild. I want to be at about 500rwhp on 91 octane pump gas. Any advice would be appreciated. do longtubes while the engine is out of the car!!!

and if you're getting an entirely forged longblock i'd definitely turn up the boost.

and maybe run a methanol injection kit?

I'm not really familiar with methanol injection. How much does that cost? how much does it help?
