Mine did the same thing, but it was coolant in the spark plug holes.

Hey Xavier remember I was having some sort of problem like that after my PI intake install, I think it turned out just to be coolant in the plug bays. Mine was wanting to sputter and backfire between 1600-2000rpms if my memory serves correct. Lasted for about a week after I got the coolant out of the plug bays.

Swap one coolant sensor for the other, and see what happens

because my auto zone hook up is in the hospital still.. can't walk. and was the driver in my "situation"

Yes they are the same, since you said it doesn't run well until it's warmed up, makes me suspect a bad temp sensor.

if it goes anywhere its going to go in the back 2 plug boots on the passengers side. One has a bracket over it and if you pull the bracket it doesn't need to go back on... don't know why its there but its been off my car for about 3 years now... after the first plug and wire change when it took me 4 hours to change the plugs b/c of that shits. Good luck and sorry about your back dude

+1. after i did the intake swap on my car, there were a few bolts/ screws i didnt need and that bracket that goes over the fuel pressure regulator (that gives you a hard time to get to the #4 plug) stayed off. likewise, it took me a good 2 hours to change the plugs on my car, with that bracket off, it pretty much only takes me about 15 minutes to change them.

and yes to your question, it probably is on the passanger side. the only thing you really need to take off is the intake tube. nothing else should be getting in your way. if it turns out there really is coolant in the #3 and #4 spark plug holes, make sure the coolant hose at the back of the intake is on nice and snug. mine wasnt and it was leaking a little bit from there. wasnt enough to cause problems, but it was enough to make me smell it.

the boots will just slide down and do a little pop after they attach to the spark plugs, if you smash them down in the hole then you've most likely gotten them on there. I

still have a scar all the way up my thumb because i pulled the boots out and my thumb got caught on the fuel rail... like an inch long and like 1/4 wide.... that...sucked..

Be careful smashing on the plug boots you could damage the wires. The only tip I have is make sure you are pushing down straight inline with the angle of the plugs, if you aren't it makes things more difficult.

k. i got one in. were doin the one thats 2nd from the back of the passenger side. then it shouldn't miss anymore..

heres another ?

the fuel rail lines that go across the manifold to the other side of the rails.. the egr smashes it too. i guess that could explain why i'm not getting any fuel... this is becoming so frustrating..

If you put it back like its suppose to be you shouldn't be having any trouble. Got a pic of your engine bay handy? The only problem I've had engine wise since the PI swap is was the coolant in the plug bays that just took a few minutes to get out.

yea if your smashing the wires and they aren't "popping" it might be time to buy some new wires. I hate these wires on these cars... when i do my motor build i'm totally going to go with COP.

atrains-- im' not trying to doubt what u said its just i've checked for the coolant, and theirs none leaking, you can move your head freely all over my engine bay and smell no coolant at all...
