and to add to that. when i shaved my pinion snubber the pumpkin was definitely hitting the undercarriage of the car under hard acceleration.

have already taken it out twice and the car is a bit of a transitioning nightmare but initiations are easy with low end torque and the factory lsd makes holding the power in drift pretty good other than that we wait till i get coilovers to really beat the beast

Get us a vid of next time you go out man.. I bet the import guys are like WTF when you bring a mustang huh lol

yeah it is weird for me as well i mean i used to be one of the ones who mocked. And next time out ill remember to bring my camera. And im glad that on this forum there is educated people who know what im talking about when i explain a situation on my car i makes this build alot easier with help and input from others slykin and duh09 nailed it on the head i think some adjustable rear arms will make it alot more predictable that and some kenny brown frame connectors but thats a long long ways way a lil update did my chin spoiler and gauge cluster today not really anything new but hey heres some crappy cell pix

One thing ive ALWAYS noticed when attempting to drift my car is the transitions are like impossible.

It seems to always want to snap rather than smoothly transition.

Im sure there is a technical reason for this but I dont know enough about suspension to understand it.

Anyone know why that is?

Idk, with the IRS in mine its pretty smooth when i try to slide it. Normally im in 2nd gear so nothiing real fast but it still has the snappy feel to it at times. With bald 315 sumis its been real smooth anyway lol

well transitioning is a big part of it if u can go side to side in control thats the whole point and pan hard bar would probably help though but i dont know never drove a car sideway with it

The transition problem is likely related to the "snap" correction over steer problem that the sn95 has. The bushings and suspension are binding then releasing . Reason being that the wheels are not sliding as far out as the body due to grip. Pressure builds in the suspension. When the pressure builds too much it releases. That release is either the body jerking back into line with the wheels or wheels sliding to catch the body. Sometimes when this happens the rear end of the car will violently jerk back the opposite way as the slide. Better bushings are a common first step to fixing the issue.

Makes sense. Seems like a torque arm setup could help since you would be getting rid of the binding upper arms. I wish Jetsetter still came around and could give some insight to how his car felt after his suspension mods on the drift course.

Bubble shifter handles are pretty.
This thread reminds me of the old video everyones seen of the Mustang and the cops chasin' him. I bet that dude could pull off some drifting in a Stang.

Nice car like the whole drift stang idea. Not knowing how to drift is how my mustang met an early ending but hopefully it will be back on its feet soon.

I would get a prothane kit and just do all the ones it comes with. Definitely noticeable. unless you want solid bushings.

Sounds like a good idea to me which bushings do u recommend getting done first
I would recommend reading these articles/threads and making your own decision on what parts/mods will work best with your budget. Specific paragraphs to read would be in second link in rear suspension as it explains much better than I did on how ours are faulted and better fix.

American Muscle sent me a video with a SN95 drift car showing it's stuff (Posted here few times-Police Mustang car VS two motorcycles). Might want to contact them or maybe Maximum Motorsports for opinions.
