Im going to www.springfieldmotorsport.com soon to get my car dynoed and tuned. this is what it has...

it is a 1997 mustang gt with 215 stock, the car has

1. jba shorty headers
2. jba x pipe
3. magnaflow cat back exhaust
4. msd ignition
5. bbk wheel well cold air intake
6. 75mm pro product throttle body
7. pro product polished plenum

any estimates?

My car, 98 GT Auto, when it had similiar mods put out 199 untuned. This was on a Dyno Jet.

are the stock cams , heads and intake that bad? i know it woulda been threw a automatic but 213whp is unimaginable to me if you had all boltons.... a 99-04 gt with full bolt ons would make like 270-290whp wouldnt it?

haha oh i know, its pathetic isn't it. You have to go F/I or nitrous to get some nice numbers out of these cars. The intake/cams are the worst part. You don't necessarily have to run PI heads for some nice results.

yeah i had a little 2.4 liter srt-4 prior to this car that was like 400whp lol and my hemi charger is roughly 300whp stock but is under the hood of a land yaht :

Stock NPI head's are a major suck fest, but the worst part is the little teeny weeny cams.

Heads are not the worst parts of these motors, it is the intake/cams. You'll notice when people do a complete PI swap, the least power is picked up from the heads( and most of the power picked up from the heads is due to compression). The intake/cams are the biggest restrictions on these non pi motors.

it has been tuned, after we dyno it we are putting in a comp cam. i was told i can expect about 15-20 rwhp increase with nothing done to the heads so i think im doing that, its gonna be 700 bucks including comp cam and labor. sound fair?

Sound fair???? That means your basically getting the cams installed for free!!!

really? the guy told me that it was a pretty good deal and they rarely just do the cam, hes trying to get me to let them port the heads. should i do ported heads or PI heads? all together with ported heads he says 1,700 bucks.
