No real update, just chipping away at smoothing this engine bay. The amount of welding and grinding I've done is ridiculous....mainly grinding, to clean up my shitty welds lol. Also laid the Scott rod panels in. They came with lines in them, which I wasn't expecting. Do y'all like the lines or no? I'm still getting used to it...haven't decided whether I like it or not.

lwarrior1016 glad you like them. I expecting smooth panels so these will take some getting used to. Not looking forward to welding them in at all though

I've really been doing a lot of thinking and I may end up making my own engine panels. Im not necessarily the happiest with these panels, and after the cutting, trimming, and fabbing that Im going to have to do with these panels to make them fit, I may as well make my own, and make them with some thicker material. Since I like the flat look and not the panels that fit the contour of the engine bay, I really just need two pieces of flat sheet metal.

Kind of undecided

I ended up fabbing up my own engine panels. I wasn't that happy with the Scott rod panels. Nothing wrong with them, I just wanted thicker material. Scott rod panels are probably 22-24 gauge if I had to guess. I got a sheet of 18 gauge and went to work

Also got a March power steering reservoir off eBay for my relocation. The quality on this piece is off the charts. I plan on mounting it in the fender well with the fuse box

Also got my fuse box bracket mounted in the fender well. I went ahead and welded a 16 gauge piece of sheet metal to the back of it for more rigidity and threaded the original screws in through the engine bay

Also determined that I would have too much time and effort into polishing the Vortech so I found a guy up north that was reasonable on price so he got the nod. I have two pieces done right now, the compressor housing and the Anderson power pipe I bought used off corral

Dude, you are seriously making me think about some home made panels. Now I hate you........

Really though, this thing is moving along nicely and looking awesome too. Great job on the panels and I think you made a smart move sending those pieces off to get polished up, they came out fantastic.

lwarrior1016 haha it's just as simple as it looks!

And yeah I'll just be glad when I can get done with all this metal work and body work and get some paint on it.

Got the drivers side done tonight. Extremely pleased with how it turned out. Really glad I went this route. Need to finish measuring the passenger side for the power pipe hole, cut it, tack the panel in, then get ready for filler

I just posted on Nick's build thread about the vortech belt. 113 is stock length for ours with 3 bolt tensioner, the 108" is for the new edge cars with the 1 bolt tensioner. Wanted to post it here too so you def saw it.

Guess I can give a small update. Finding time to work on the car has been tough. Still putting in as much time as possible. Finished all metal work, got the car on the ground, and am currently doing body work now

Small update...getting some body work done in prep for paint. Got the top of the rad support close. Little more work there then I'll start sanding on the engine bay panels. Here's a little before and after of the front of the car after body filler and a few coats of high build primer

Body work continues to consume my life.

Quick question...you guys think I should go ahead and shave these holes on the frame rail while I'm at it or just leave it alone cause they're basically out of sight? Let me know your opinion!
