Most the newer headers fit both gt40p and gt40s. I wouldnt worry about it. finding a set that fits is easy.

i thought i read on my bbk's that they wouldnt work with the gt40p heads, could be because i have unequal length though

Even those can work. It's simple to install 90 degree boots and if you want added protection wrap them. Done deal.

Equal lengths are the ones that are a fitment pita.

If it were me though. I'd throw a set of mac long tubes at either the 40s or 40ps and be done.

I wouldn't buy headers until you get the heads. Or find out 100% if they will work. Ask me how I know.

The emissions legal MACs I had on the 94 would not work with the GT40p. They all bolt up to the exhaust ports, but plug angles in the GT40p is almost straight out of the head. On the MACs I had 3 or so cylinders tyhat were tight, I mean you'd probably have to remove the headers to get the plugs out. And there was one cylinder, #7 IIRC, the installed plug's electrode was actualy hitting the header tube. So I looked for some short plugs, Accell makes them, they are cheap for the SBC, but the Ford plugs were expensive and they were not the correct length for the GT40P head (yes the GT40 and E7 heads are different plugs). Anyway, I went with a set of Fox BBK shortys I also had in the garage, fit was good all around, #7 has some serious heat shielding around the plug boot. And I did get a set of MSD universal wires and made a set with 90* boots.

but with a gt40 set up is it really worth the pain in the ass of long tubes? the gains wont be that much more then shorty headers

Been looking around and taking into account that 94/95's sometimes don't really like cam's w/o a tune. Was looking at the Steeda #19 Cam,says its made for 94-95s because of the computers sensitivity. Anyone run this cam? Just to be sure. With this Steeda #19 Cam, what exact spring uprgrade kit would I need and would the GT40 heads and explorer upper and lower all work with this cam?
