So I have been debating on this decision lately. I already have 40 series flowmasters welded into the stock catback. I either want to get a JLT cold air intake (in fender type) or a new catback. The catback would definitely be 2.5" with 3" tips. The catback I am leaning towards is bassani. Keep in mind I will probably be keeping my O/R H pipe. What do you think?

Catback... You will enjoy it every time you start/drive your car...
after a little while, you won't notice the "difference" a cai makes...

+1 catback, both will net you like 3hp so id rather go for a nice sounding exhaust.

Definitely catback, Imo go with an eBay intake, it's the only one worth the money.

I heard Bassani with an H pipe and it didn't sound the best, not bad but it sounds better with an X. That was on a 5.0 though.

They don't get super hot but I know what you mean. Mine really doesn't get all that hot. It definitely doesn't get hot enough to heat up the incoming air. As long as you have a fenderwell with a heatshield. Then it's bringing in cooler air from the outside. As fast as that air is coming in, there's no way that pipe gets hot enough to heat it up.

I've had a few ebay intakes on my other cars and was not disappointed with them. They are designed the same as the name brands, they just use crappy filters (some do anyway)
I agree with the Bassani and H-pipe. I think the X-pipe sounds better with that catback.

You've already got the k/n... Then keep it and get a new catback.. I got tired of the flows and really enjoy the sound of my LM1's, even more now that I've got to follow behind my car while someone else drove it.

What kind of mid-pipe do you have Jay?
