Has anyone successfully modified the stock t-bird style pan (what's in our SN95 5.0s) for use with the DSS girdle? I've spent quite a bit of time metal working and so far can get the pan to fit well, sans pickup. Once I add the pickup tube and pump I still need another 1" of depth, which looks impossible. Next step would be to cut and weld.

If I'm barking up the wrong tree and this is impossible- does anyone have any recommendations for a stock style pan that will fit our chassis and work with the girdle?

You aren't kidding! After reading your post I got a little more aggressive with the tube and got it to fit.
Its pretty ugly but not pinched or restrictive and it holds vacuum. I ended up having to cut and weld a different main bolt tab, but you are right it does fit.
