This was in 1998, they weren't around I don't think 9second gen like yours). They certainly weren't in my little cowtown.

Well, it's not really a car that's "for sale". So, you're right but the point is that if you buy a Termi and send FRPP a check for the parts you get a helluva car for less than $50k.

A "sports car" is classified as only having 2 seats. I never mentioned that the Mustang was a "sports car".

I didn't say you did, but people seem to think they are, not just Mustangs, the lot of them, since you cut the end of my quote off. None of them are supposed to do anything but look cool, sound cool, and be slightly faster than normal.

You've jumped to 50k like it's laying in couch cushions or something, that's a hell of a lot of money, and you can do it for less anyway, I'm not here to argue, I don't care.

Ok, well I wasn't sure cause the "sports car" comment seemed to come out of nowhere. I never said 50k was nothing but neither is the $60 or $70k for a Z06 or whatever. You missed the point. Of course it could be done cheaper but it's built by an auto company. Anyway, I agree.

My thing is that when I buy a "sports car" (yes its not really a sports car) I like to have a big engine. I like the 4.6 DOHC's but displacement is where the power is. IF you modded both engines (4.6 vs. 5.7) obviously the 5.7 is going to be the victor. And altough I love the whine of a s/c, I'd still rather have a bigger motor. Just my thoughts on that.

Thats a clean WS6. Two of my friends were featured in HPP magazine with their T/A's

My other buddy is dropping in a fully built LS6 in a datsun.

As to the OP, The ls1 does kick some ass, but a mustang is a mustang, and i have 5 mustangs purely because i like mustangs. I've had f-bodys, decent cars, but even with full BMR suspension, it handled slugishly and felt wayyyy to heavy, even with the high 12's it would tick off at the track.. I still maintain that the only way to have a true performance mustang is to roll in a 5.0 mustang with a windsor swap. A 351w EFI'd fox or SN95 would probably be the equivalent of a ls1 f-body, and would easily keep up. 5.8 vs a 5.7 is the old school race, from back in the day when the damn 350 and 351's were everywhere. Many people run around hollaring how we will all be driving modulars, because its "the future of ford".. well I surely won't, as they don't do anything for me, even with the damned shelby 500's i'ved worked on and driven. Your car is definately nice, both of them, and i'd be proud to own them, but I am a ford fan of sorts, by no means a diehard since i'd take a bowtie over a mopar anyday. I am a blue oval son of a diehard chevrolet man of 30 years :hammer: go figure. I enjoyed my Z28, but what it had over a mustang didn't outweight what the mustang had on the f-body. I've always thought that GM built those cars, to purely outrun a mustang, sacrificing most common sense items and other functions just so they can stop on the 4v's for 4 years. But apparently the cars didn't last, because sales killed it. You can't say that the market was bad, or that particular type of car was having a bad year, because the mustang held steady, and continues to today. All in all i love to own my iconic cars, when someone sees it, they know its a mustang, and i never got anything like that in my z28. It was purely "is that a camaro?", and most werent a fan. :hammer:

I really dont give a crap if the F-Body uses a torque arm....facts are facts. Put the same year WS6 against the same year cobra and the Cobra will PWN the WS6 on the track all day long.

Yeah the 4 link is flawed, everyone and there mom knows this....but i would rather have a flawed 4-link that out handles F-Bodies all day long.

Have you ever seen a F-Body on a Road course j.r? It looks like a freakin' joke.
