Have you ever seen a F-Body on a Road course j.r? It looks like a freakin' joke.
Other than on TV watching Trans Am racing, nope, i haven't. I have owned several third gens, and one fourth gen, as well as a few Mustangs, and I know I don't get that feeling in the F-body when pushing it hard of "please god don't hit a bump, don't hit a bump" in mid corner like I always do in a stang.
At any rate, you've still dodged the question. Why, does MM toute their Torque arm kit so much, if the car designed around it would get stomped at the road course?
Why do all the Cobra's in NASA run solid rear ends if the Cobra would stomp a WS6 on a road course?
Seriously, this is getting old quick. If you don't like Handz, great, but give the rest of us a break with the constant badgering.
The car that designed around the mighty torque arm isn't that quick because it's heavy, really heavy. That, and the stock pieces (to my knowledge) are stamped steel, which isn't known for it's torsional strength.
Just because this almighty suspension is under a car doesn't mean that car is automatically going to dominate everything. Put a torque arm under a Semi Truck. It's not going to instantly go and win an autocross. That's just the way it works.
And the NASA cars run solid axles because they're cheap, don't weigh much, and are strong. I'm sure that if you tried to convince someone who owned one of those cars to put in a heavier, weaker axle out back because it may handle a little better, they would say no. And I would assume the reasoning to be that they don't want to have to worry about breaking half-shafts, or carrying around an extra 100 lbs.
Every car has it's flaws. There is no supreme ruler of all cars that has no flaws and makes everyone happy. so to have a big thread about how terrible the car that everyone on this site bought is, is pointless. If the engine is what makes the car for you, then yes, an LS based engine is probably the hot ticket for you, if not, then hell, it may still be the hot ticket for you, but it also may not be. If F-Bodies were really the most amazing car ever, then everyone would have them, but since they aren't, people buy other cars. The same goes for the Mustang.
