Hey all, recently I've been thinking about getting a 94-95 GT/GTS. Anyone know what they go for on average? Color and trans don't matter. I highly prefer it to be stock. No verts. As far as mileage goes, under 130k is ideal. Main purpose of the car would be mostly show with some track. Basically a weekend car. I thought about getting another 4.6 (SN or NE) but both are priced pretty steep. Would consider a Fox but most around here are rust buckets and/or overpriced.

Up in Mass I've seen lowest around $2700 with 100k on the clock. Just curious.

Probably 2-3k at most, with 100k on the clock I think the most I'd spend is probably 2500-3000. I got mine with 53k on the clock, all original and bone stock, leather interior, power everything, for a little over 6k.

You guys must have a different market where you're at.. Down here that'd probably fetch around 4k if it's straight and clean.

of course you want a 302. Chuck norris wants a 302....... the 302 the only motor that can perform like it does and take the abuse that it does.... If god wanted to be a motor he would be a 302(he has that power, might have done it already).......... The 302 is the absolute bestest motot in the entire universe........ When alians come down they do not butt-probe you, they want to probe your 302............ They reverse engineered the technology and then took it back to their planet and hailed it as the greatest creation of all time and then never left their planet again - never needed too because their 302 IS STILL RUNNING...........

do you understand how important the 302 is to us!?!?!?!?!

i'm pretty sure scott is back in the hospital getting the "good stuff"

down in PA area, you'd expect to see a clean one for 4-5k. different markets have cheaper. craigslist is probably the best bet for you.

I planned to buy one around February unless one pops up for an ungodly price. Do they have any major issues to address? I think it was in a 5.0 magazine article they mentioned something about the ECU being a PITA.

Thanks for the input thus far!

it's more of a PITA if your used to fox ECU. it just needs a tune once you do a HCI. definitely worth picking one up. they are cheaper to mod then a 4.6

@ ProKiller

Cost of mods is a big factor. I'm not very knowledgeable in the 5.0 department, is there a PI swap equivalent for that platform?

only about a thousand different combos to choose from. the sky is the limit with that. a common budget build is GT40p heads and intake from an explorer. usually gets you around 260hp/280tq to the wheels. costs under a grand usually.

Quick question for ya, what year explorer would the intake and gt-40 heads be best to get off of? Would it be best to go to a junkyard and pull the intake (upper and lower right?) and the heads?

well the earlier years have gt-40 heads where as the latter years have gt-40p's. the gt-40s are the same as what the cobras had. i'm not sure off the top of my head as to what the cutoff year is though.
