Or at the minimum a 5-speed auto with manual mode. The auto in mine is what finally gave out. Had the low-speed shudder that got progressively worse.

Fun fact, there was a guy that was making Vortec adapter kits for them for a while. Called them TerminVIIIors or something like that.

Sorry to hear about your Mark! Mine is in rough shape paint and appearance wise, but 80k on the car itself! Runs and drives quite well. I actually just picked up a clutch pedal for it, so I'll hope to complete the manual swap sometime in the future.

Then the 80k mile Mark trans can go into my 180k mile Town Car :cool:

I've seen some really nice boosted setups for the Mark VIII. I even saw a cheap turbo special on YouTube making 400whp through the auto. Such an underrated machine.

see now az doesn't have the pot hole problem that most places have since it doesn't freeze, but they do NOT play around with their speed bumps and the drains on the side of the roads funny enough. It does not rain there often but when it does it can really come down and because of that they shape their roads with a little more curve to them to allow water to drain faster. Because of that there were some corners where the roads met that I had had to be careful around as it was still at stock ride height I had places I had to avoid or it would scrape.

The freezing bit really does make a difference, I have seen some roads change for the worse by the time spring arrives. I know what you mean about the freak rain storms in Arizona too, I can see how the road would be effected by designing them for flood control!

How did you like the kyb agx dampers with the super sport springs?

I'm sorry, I think I skipped right over your reply when I was writing this page.

To be entirely honest, this was the best ride my car ever had. Of course the stock suspension is pretty soft. But the H&R springs gave it just the right amount of stiffness, and felt great in corners because of the progressive springs. The AGX dampers had 4 settings front and 8 settings rear, which is plenty and I loved them as well.

I would definitely recommend the setup if you're looking for something mild.

May 2019. After the one track day and one autocross, the all seasons on my Weds wheels were toast! So, I decided to make the jump to some really nice rubber. I got the Michelin PS4S, in 245/40 and 275/35. Charlie and I went for a good rip in the mountains to break them in. Even though he sold me the tires, at one point he said, "wow, you really trust these tires..." as we were in a hard corner... not sure that inspired much confidence lol but wow!!! What a huge difference. I had never owned real high performance tires before, and it was well worth the cost.

June 2019. After driving the car hard into the 120mph+ range a few times, I was noticing a high speed vibration. The u-joints were new, so I took the factory steel driveshaft to get balanced at a local shop. That helped significantly.

June 2019. I'll always remember this night. Charlie and I had just finished a run up and down the mountain. On our way back to the city, we encountered this 987 Cayman S on the Interstate. He was going fast, and I tried to show him who's faster. Well, I might have been the faster driver but that Porsche definitely had more power. I was chasing him down in the 145mph range and he shut me down. Then hit the brakes. He shoulda just let me pass lol.

Anyway, this was when I realized my love of chasing the top speed. I decided that is what I really wanted to do with the '95.

July 2019. I washed the car in the evening, and the next day when I went to start it, nada. I bypassed the MSD 6A and it started right up. When I installed the 6A originally, I installed right underneath the airbox, in the wheel well, upside down. So I cracked it open, and the car wash water had filled it up! I bought a new one and mounted it in a more appropriate place.

October 2019. After the June Cayman encounter. I had been routinely getting up at 3:00am and taking the Mustang out for long, fast drives. Hence, there weren't too many photos between June and October because the car was mainly out before sunrise. After touching 150mph several times, I found that my differential started puking out the breather. My car still had 75W-90 in the axle from the last time I serviced it.

So I came up with this solution. GT500 aluminum diff cover, air scoop, and 75W-140 gear oil. Here is the cover, and the scoop taking shape. I used the Lube Locker gasket on the cover, which I would recommend again and again!

October 2019. I routinely ran into issues with the car keeping cool at speed. After a little research, I found out just how crucial the little air deflector under the car is. It's the piece that is attached to the bottom of the radiator support, and helps do draw air over the radiator via the holes in the bottom of the bumper. Lots of cars from the '90s rely on this effect, since they have tiny grille openings. The SN is no exception.

My bumper was all cut up on the bottom from installing the ProCharger intercooler, since the kit is made for a Cobra. So I cut the rest of it off, and replaced with a new aluminum piece. Instead of the factory air deflector, I took one from a '89-'92 Ford Ranger and cut it down a little bit. I installed it with 1/4"-20 nut serts on the radiator support. Huge difference with the cooling!

October 2019. Still facing a significant oil leak when parked, I decided it was time to do the oil pan. And of course, we can't just do an oil pan gasket! I did a little searching for a new k-member. The QA1 k-member had just been introduced the price was right! I bought that along with Maximum Motorsports front control arms in preparation for some front end work.
