I'm not saying the cop that stopped you was right/wrong or whatever, but from the times I was following behind you, your lights were kinda hard to see, especially when it was sunny and bright out. I'm not sure if it was because of the LEDs, the tint, or both.
Sweet builds!
On the stop, Florida law may be a little different. However, most places are probably pretty similar. While under lawful detention, you can be ordered to step out of the car. A traffic stop is a lawful detention. And the lights are dark enough, it was a legal stop. There's a possibility he ran your plate and it came back to say a different colored car, or a car with a certain vin, or just something strange, and he may have been investigating to make sure everything was alright.
Either way, here at least, you can record away. It does sound like the stop was a little odd, but you just don't know exactly what he was looking for. There may even be a stolen black mustang in your area and he may have thought it was yours. The way I see it, no tickets or anything, I wouldn't sweat it lol
In Indiana you don't have to exit the car unless you are being detained. You don't even have to roll your window down you can just crack it and talk to the officer. Even at DUI check points you don't have to exit or roll down your window just crack it if they aren't detaining you for any reason, which I'm sure they can make up a reason, you don't have to take a breathalyzer and can continue through the check point according to the law. I just complied with the guy because I had nothing to hide and I knew I hadn't done anything wrong. It was the holiday weekend too so they were pulling over a bunch of people I'm sure, but the entire stop felt weird I even tried to ask the guy about his car he was a sheriff so he had the hemi charger and he told me he had no idea whats in it lmao. And your right I skated out of that without a ticket or even a warning so I can't complain too much but the whole thing was unordinary.
I'd love to know where you read some of the laws.
1) In Indiana you can refuse the breathalyzer but then they have the right to detain you and have a blood test done at a hospital.
2) an officer can ask you to leave your car at anytime if they feel there is any level of suspicion. If you have a conceal carry license that's all the reason they need for their safety. They know this before they pull you over as officers run your plate before hitting the lights and sirens.
3) not rolling your window down gives them suspicion and probable cause.
No offense but you sound like half of the kids I went to school with when I got my license in Indiana over 20 years ago. You need to actually talk to some local cops and layers to get a better understanding of the laws.
The shop I owned did work for many of the police departments and the courts in Indy for a long time from 97-03. I used to hear the same stuff you are saying and I always asked officers and even had the mini copy of the Indiana law book that most officers keep in their glove box.
I haven't lived in Indiana in over 10 years but I know the laws haven't changed that much.

I wouldn't say they always know for sure if you have a concealed permit. I think it's just common place to ask.
I've talked with local cops and state troopers both in Indiana when I had my shop. They all said the same thing that they are trained to run your plate before they hit the lights. In Indiana as soon as they run your plate on the laptop it shows if registered owner has carry and conceal.
I learned that it was always easiest when I got pulled over that as they'd walk up to my window that is already have it down, hands on roof, and first words out of my mouth was to explain where my gun was. Never had issues when I followed that method.
Drove one of my employees cars once and got pulled over and didn't do this and when he came back to the car after running my info had me get out and disarmed me. His backup escorted me back to the rear of vehicle and removed the clip and emptied the clip and chamber and placed it all in a small paper sack and then stapled it shut. After they verified the car wasn't stolen and that I was clean they placed the bag in the trunk and had me get back in the drivers seat till they were gone. This was for their safety and I didn't have an issue with it.
Problem with people today is that anything a cop does is microanalyzed and y'all want to find something to gripe about. Everybody is so quick to grab a phone and record what a cop is doing rather than stoping to think what did you or the person being arrested do.
Most cops could care less about your mustang. My Stang is going to stand out more visually and audibly than most Stangs you will see on your local streets and more than most on my streets. I haven't had a single cop mess with me yet.
When I was in my early 20's and driving my 73 stingray I got pulled over a lot. Mainly cause I was driving aggressively in a car that most people at that age woudnt of had a chance at owning
Point of this story, other then I'm heavily medicated, is to just chill and sit back and think about if you ever put yourself in the situation as opposed to thinking the cop is just picking on you. !
When they run your plate they can see if you have a carry permit 100%. He didn't pull me over for my tails. In Indiana it is legal to have your tails tinted. He pulled me over for not signaling 200 ft before the stop sign, which I did I saw him tailing me so obviously I'm going to make complete stops and signal extremely early. If he would have tried to give me a ticket I would have requested discovery and got the video from his dash cam and fought the ticket for sure. You say "if they aren't detaining you for any reason" but before he put the lights on, he had a reason. Your dark tail lights. That makes it a lawful detention..
Bold possibly, true......most definitely!!!
Again, you miss the point as most kids do these days.
So carry on and maybe next time your "mistreated" by an officer you will remember to hit record and you can post the video and we will all show up to riot and yell mustangs matter, mustangs matter!!!!!
Peace, love and chicken wings y'all!!!!!!
I agree, for the record I wasn't arguing lol
Tew, I'm pretty sure you are as "down there" as we can get, being that you are in Orlando. If geography serves me right, I'm pretty sure Arkansas is UP from you. Up and over if we want to get picky.
