My goal of getting great 60 FTs

Update from last nights race:
Freaking horrible, well most of it
I did manage to squeeze a 1.91 60 ft, and ran a 9.32. slower ET but 60 Ft is improving. Also getting this power shifting down, was scary as hell the 1st time because the ass end got side ways lol.
But what sucked the most is, come to find out last night i was only running on 7 cylinders.
I hope to see a huge improvement this friday

why were you only on 7? Spark plug wire come off?

Yes. when it got up to around 4k rpms and more the car would have dead spots. Drove over to a friends house popped the hood, and sure enough it was laying to the side.
One a cool note: this evening i raced a cammed 454 BB Monte Carlo, smoked him by 2 car lengths. Wish i had it on video
If it doesn't rain Friday, ill be at the track again running on all 8 lol

Figured i would give an update. car now has strange 10 way adjustable. i really didnt want to upgrade any suspension parts but for 50 bucks, how could i say no.
this is on a 125 shot. best i have been on motor was a 9.10
as you can see my 60ft have considerably improved. im 7954

What you launching at and what you using for rear tires I'm expecting 1.4x 60fts tonight from my car on a 28 12.50-15 et street with the 125 shot going to her. . We're hoping for 6.90's in the 1/8 and whatever I run out in the 1/4 so be it

3500 with a set of Hoosier 970s 28x9.5x15. I would like to get a 60ft like that. I just don't see mine getting that low at our local track.. They don't prep on tues and fri. I need to get a like a 26" tire.
Please post up a video after your run lol. 6.90 is moving on in an 1/8th.

Rich? He was great, he got sick of the morons coming and going on allfordmustangs and he left. Plus the mods banned like 4 of the top contributors to the SN95 section because they would make fun of members coming in asking about super common stuff. That's kind of why I've been trying to integrate into these forums as well. That place got overrun.

its not ust him it was everyone... and when you spend time to answer a question and the person doesnt even reguard your statement it makes you not care. I normally only post in technical and drag racing sections and most of he time I do its spent correcting e myths......

I was wondering if i should bring the rpms up that high. Now that you suggest it, I'm going to try it this Tuesday.
supposed to be in the mid 60s Tuesday night with a humidity of 20%. Perfect night for racing.
last night is was around 87 with humidity at like 60%.

Yea that's a pretty big tire I don't know if you seem my thread yet , I'm also running a 28" tall tire it's the only way to go IMO. Yea I think you'll at least drop a couple tenths on the 60ft with the harder launch . Do you got good bottle pressure.

I need to get a smaller tire like a 26" for the 4.10 gears..

You got 4.10's ? That's fine just kick the launch up and spray that baby you'll be running low 7's in the 1/8th before ya know it

Make sure to upgrade your fuel pump to a 255lph if you haven't already. What timing you at?

My car traps another 15-18mph in the 1/8th on the bottle . I can't believe this thing ain't in the 7's yet
