But pi vs npi isnt huge normally

I ran 14.0 @ 100-101 with my bolt on NPI auto all day

pi cars are overated, theyre not much to beat

compared to the red headed step child non pi, and you being a fellow driver im shocked to hear that you think the Pi is overreated, when pi swaps are a BIG deal with your cars to make power thats why every 1 does pi swaps lol and its about what 45+hp more then a non pi, and pi cars 99-04 seem to run mid to low 14's 1/4 stock and trap 95-100 bone stock, when a non pi 96-98 runs 15's 1/4 trap @82-90+mph

and whats the point of saying ur bolt on modded no pi ran 14.0, when a pi car with an auto can run low 14's bone stock?and it takes no skill in a slugomatic to just floor it, if you had a 5 speed you prob wouldnt of even ran anywhere near 14.0 you would mid to high 14's best with a manual, and op just got lucky a pi car with them gears and bolt ons is a strong 13 sec car with a better driver. for example my friend with a 2004 gt auto ran 14.1@101 bone stock, and he ran 13.4-13.6@103-105 in his stock 4 valve mach1 so I would say the 99+pi cars and 4 valve cars are a alot better then a non pi stock or with slight bolt ons even against a stock non pi or stock 4 valve car..

I dont want to start a pi vs pushrod war or the pi vs non pi like this thread... but I can say the same about my 5.0 pushrod vs your year non pi, My car bone stock was running 14.6-14.8@93-95, and my other friend with his 1996 gt non pi with intake and exaust on same day was running 15.1-15.5@87-92, his best time was a 15.1@92,which was still slower then my slowest time in my stock 5.0.and his wasnt stock he had bolt ons and still slower then my stock 5.0, So yes I would say a pi is a BIG diff vs non pi cars

pi swap on a npi makes a bigger difference then just a pi car out of the factory..

arent new edges somewhere between 400 and 600 pounds heavier?

No the new edges are around the same weight as are sn95's, they didnt get 400 lbs heavier until now in the new 2005+ mustang they weigh 3,500-,3800lbs, vs are cars were 3,050-3,400lbs same with the new edge, even the heavy 03-04 cobras were 3,600 lbs, and the foxbody cars were in the 2,800-3,100 lb range

I cut a 2.3 60' on my BFG KDW's... then again, I don't claim to be a good driver, I suck :p

Not you completely. Street tires re horrible for 60' times

I have beaten more than one PI GT in my slushbox NPI car. When I was bone stock, I beat a full bolt on, geared, and tuned 5 speed 03 one night, and beat him every time. I was trapping 73, he was trapping like 79 (which is still slow for a bolt on PI GT), and he was rarely getting into the 9s. I out ran a exhaust/geared auto 01 GT when I was full bolt on. They are overrated in my opinion. I love getting picked on by all the guys driving PI GTs, and then beating their a*s on the track (although I'll admit that driving ability has more to do with it than anything). My automatic car, with PI cams and intake, UDPs, and exhaust ran 14.1s on a day with so-so weather. Stock PI GTs that day were running 14.3-14.5. Add gears, slicks, TB/Plenum, and good weather, and I'd run 13.5s. Add a stall (or 5-speed), and I'd be low 13s. Same exact thing as well-driven PI GTs.

Are they faster/put down more hp/run better times stock for stock? Sure. Absolutely. No debate there.

Does it take much to make NPI GT to run with the PIs? No. It does not take much. PI cams and intake and it becomes a drivers race. Exhaust, gears, and other bolt ons and it still remains a drivers race.

Now that I have the blower, it's even more fun for me now to surprise/beat them. :D
