Had a chance to run a modded 2005 gt the other night. The 2005 gt has a automatic with 410 gears, stallion torque converter, x-pipe, cold air intake, hand held programmer, and mickey thompson et streets. I have a 94 gt vert automatic with 355 gears, 342 stroker, and stock suspension (hadn't had time to put the new suspension in yet). My tires were new nitto drag radials. We raced twice from a stop through a marked 1/4 mile with someone at the end. The 2005 gt left me at the line twice ( he didn't spin and I did) but by the 1/8th I had caught him and began passing him. I was suprised how fast this 2005 was. I only out ran him by 1 length. I usually run in the low 8's through the 1/8th. Anyway it was a great feeling to outrun the new 2005 mustangs. :dancing6:

yeah they are pretty quick comparing to our cars. i was playing with a friend that has an 06 gt thats all stock minus a catback. and he left me but he hooked up and i blew my tires off through second. by the time i hooked up he was 4 or 5 links in front of me and was slowing down to the red light.

Had the same problem at the drag strip last friday. I dont know what the guy had done to his but he was running 13.7 all night and when we lined up and the green light dropped I blew him off the line and treed him pretty good but when I hit 2nd the tires broke loose and he walked by me. What makes me feel good though is when I hit 3rd he was a little less than a link in front of me but I slowly started to reel him in but just ran out of time....lol

Sounds like your friend has alot of $$$ and time in his new mustang.... i bet both of yalls cars run damn good!!

Yeah, I've been working on my for about 2 years. He just started modding his 2005 and already has great platform to work on. We are both trying to get into the 7's naturally aspirated. I'm in the process of installing a new intake (edlebrock rpm II) it should provide more top end performance. We see soon.
