I know that a stock 5.0 SN95 GT makes 215HP, but what is the RWHP? Anyone happen to have a dyno sheet? Im going to start modding my car and I want to have a bechmark but dont want to spend $100 to get it. Also, what kind of #'s are guys putting down with a setup like this?
GT-40P heads
FRPP E-303 Cam
TFS Track heat manifold
BBK Un-equal shortys
Catted x-pipe
catback
70mm TB
U/D Pullies
CAI
on a T-5

My opinion is just that you won't benefit much from a track heat manifold and a 70 mm throttle body. My opinion is either do a hell of a porting job on those heads and match it to the intake and get a smaller throttle body 65mm a gt40 intake will make a nice low end torque and it should pull nicely until 5600 rpms or so... just my 2 cents.

that intake is too big for that setup. The trick flow street heat would be alright. As for headers its longtubes or bust. You'll see gains with shorties but they will be marginal. As for the rwhp it would be around 180ish.

Read my sig.

Made 251 RWHP with the AOD-E

I had virtually the same setup in a 92 LX with a T5 and a Crane 2031 cam instead of a stock cam and it made 278 RWHP.

the 215 hp is the rating at the fly wheel.

RWHP is the amount of power the car puts the the wheels after the drivetrain loss...thats where you get the 185 rwhp.

General rule of thumb is that RWHP is 15% less then the power at the engine. Figure 20% for auto's. Power numbers from manufactures are always given in power at the motor b/c its the more impressive number to the consumer who does not know there is a drivetrain loss of HP. The Track heat would be good if you were going with better heads like AFR's or Trick Flows but the GT 40's wont flow like these heads will. The track heat will be trying to make HP that the GT 40's cant keep up with. Im in the oppsite situation, Im in need of a better intake b/c my heads are far out flowing my intake.

My mods are in my sig. Last year I put down 201 rwhp and 261 lb/ft torque. There was a virtually stock 95 5.0 that put down 167 rwhp. (I forget the torque.) All he had was a mac after-cat system. After the supercharger install this year, I'm planning on at least 300-325 rwhp.

Well I went to the track last night and raced a 03 GT in the 1/8th mile, its got JBA headers, Bassanni x-pipe, basanni cat-back, K&N intake system, BBK 65mm TB, 3.73 gears with an auto putting down about 265 rwhp on brand new Mickey Thompson ET drag radials. Needless to say I was expecting to loose with my essentially bone stock 5.0 on BALD BFG drag radials. But anyway, we raced and he won, but by .003 of a second. I smoked him off the line (I spun, he didnt) and was about a length ahead of him till 3/4 of the track, thats when he drove around me. So whats up with this? Why is his car putting down so much more power and have gears and everything and my car which has potential 156 RWHP come so close to winning? BTW my reaction time was .536 and his was .497. And if anyone was wondering my best run of the night was a 9.38 at 72 MPH! Smoked some black trans-am :thumb:

The R/T wont have any effect as far as who wins but as far as your question. Its called the driver mod, put simply he just sucks as a driver. Anyone w/ MT ET Streets should not be spinning off the line. What where both of your 60' times?

I think the Track Heat intake is fine. Might loose a touch of low end power, but will breathe much better than a Street Heat.
The Track Heat is comparable to the Edelbrock Performer RPM or RPM II intakes...

Keep in mind, the P - heads require a specific header (exhaust ports are slightly raised).

If I were you, I would save a little more and pick up a set of aluminum heads, like the Edelbrock Performer (buy the ones that are a cpl years old, not the older ones. The "newer" ones are revised and flow much more) or TFS Twisted Wedge or even AFR 165s....

The small block 302 also makes alot more torque down low. At a higher RPM the 4.6 will pull away.

Thats actually a pretty good time for stock or close to it. Thats a 14.5, 14.4 in the 1/4th. My car with just smog delete and x-pipe made 210 rwhp and 275 rwtq through a manual at sea level south florida.
