I'm kind of nervous about starting this thread.. last time my project thread got deleted some how. the site went down or something and my thread didnt make it.

Well after going back and forth with what i wanted to do with the car.. I have decided! So im pulling the little 331 dart out and replacing it with another dart, but this time a 351 (408)! I want to go NA, so at first it was a 363. but i said if im going to do it why not go a little bigger?! called up Jim @ fordstrokers and got that rolling. Ed @ FTI will have some money in his hands soon. so the heads and cam are in the works! im hoping to wrap it all up around march or april.

so the plan is...
Dart shp 408w 10.5.1? still unsure of what is going to be.
TFS 240 highports
custom billet hyrdraulic roller cam
using my upper TFS R intake 90mm opening. have to buy a 351 lower.
accufab 90mm tb
headers? i think i might get with accufab on these.
full 3" custom exhaust. probably bassani mufflers.

when i pull it it im going to do what i should have last time and swap k-members. also i will be looking for more things to hide, i might bring the fuse box back or put it to where i can have easier access to it. should be fun.

also i will have lots of good parts for sale soon, so keep an eye out. the 331 being one of them. my heads ill probably keep as ill use them on my Lightning. anyways guys wish me luck! this motor will have to make 500hp at the wheel for me to be happy!!

how come you dont get a blower? you have a nice block, crack up the boost and have fun.

Sounds like a fun build, Suspect! I'd be careful with your compression unless you don't like pump gas. Post some picts and good luck!

yea thats why i knocked the heads and cam out. now i can call up Jim and let him know what i got. we can choose the right piston for the job off these parts.

itll only take 2 days max (on my own) to pull it. itll probably take more time to take it all apart once its out. :tongue3: but ill be starting sometime this month. as i want to get that k-member ordered and put in.

no im stuck on staying NA. ive been back and forth with it all year. all this money could have easily went towards a blower or turbo. i could never pull the trigger tho. i love how much fun it is now and its only pushing 360.

o about the shortblock.. my shop has 1st dibs on it, but if they dont move on it fast ill have it up for sale everywhere.

its a dart sportsman race block (4.00 bore). probe 4340 crank/rods. rod bolt has been upgraded. probe dished pistons. zero balanced. with my tfs 170 heads the compression was 8.95.1 i think. ill have to look at my paperwork. im going to try to sell it complete w/out the heads. meaning cam, balancer, flywheel, and oil pump/pan. pans already tapped for the oil line. we'll see tho.

things have been real slow. i havent done a thing. ive been busy with other stuff, also building a shed just for car parts! when thats done i can get moving pretty quickly. good thing is im pretty fast at ordering parts and i pretty much have got all that taken care of. only parts i need now: lower intake, new injectors/maf, oil pump/pan, and lots of gaskets. small stuff. of course ill have to take a trip to the coaters as well! :thumbsup:

custom cam from Ed.

and my k-member from pa-racing. custom made with 1" drop motor mounts, rack dropped 1 1/2", and spring perches. so for sure i cant run into problems clearing my hood. thing is stupid light.

btw i got almost all my parts w/out selling my motor!! i was thinking of keeping it and throwing it in another stang...nah. new plan is to go ahead and sell it and buy a full magnum t56 kit from d&d performance! :headbang: man im really looking forward to the end of this project!
