nu finish is nothing to brag about, thats for sure. but i have yet to find anything that competes with it. I use it because its the best ive found... i use it and always have a sence of disappointment afterwards.
Amigo, you need a buffing compound. These compounds help remove swirl marks, minor surface damage, and un-seen dirt.
ALWAYS follow the buffing compound with a wax... ALWAYS. most people recomend using a polish in-between the compound and the wax, but this tends to be too much work for alot of people.
You need 2 terry cloths. put your compound on one, rub in circular motions onto the paint until it is a thin cover. Wipe with the other cloth in the opposite-circular-direction immediately.
for a wax (which i would think would take care of the scratches you've described)
apply the wax to the cloth, rub in a circular motion onto the paint until it is a thin cover. LET DRY to a haze. wipe off with the other cloth in the opposite direction.
(this process takes 4 cloths. 1 for each stage of the cleaning.) as you do this more and more, you will find what products you like best, what buffer machine you like best, what cloths you like best, and what works best on each problem for paint.
The problem you describe, i suggest Miguires Gold Class Car Wash followed by a waxing with Miguires Caranuba Wax. This should remove surface problems. If it doesnt, the buffing compound may need to be used...
