Cool man, yea i always worked in wadesboro, lol. If i was you and i'm doing this too, i would do the head swap. I just got my hads on some nice heads and i'm going to buy a short block and rebuild it with good rings and bearings and then slap the h/c/i on there and install the long tubes and t45 and slide them in.
