Event preparation! Reduced the front sway bar from full stiff to the middle setting. Increased the rear bar from full soft to one setting from full stiff. It seems “not enough” rear bar and “too much” front bar will lead to a horrible front end push. We shall see.

Also had a new set of front tires installed since the others were corded. Decided to step down to a 265/35r18 so the tires don’t bulge and I can effectively use more of the contact patch. These Federal tires run wider than others so the previous 275’s were more like 285’s.

Looks good. Just make sure you have plenty of tire clearance. Also be leary of oil mist on your tire.

Hey Mike! I'm too hard headed to give up! The Coyote was the best move I made for this car.
I put a coyote in one of my race coupes. Best decision I ever made. It's got a turbo on it with a 6R80. I use Holley for the engine efi and quick 6 for the trans.
How is your's performing? What kind of power is it making?

Still on the safe tune because I haven’t made a dyno appointment. The old combo was in the 420 whp range but that was also a safe tune with less compression and such. All said and done I’m anticipating 440-450, or so and a bit more on E85.

Even so, it’s a riot to drive and the wide ratio T56 with 4.10’s is perfect for it.

Man, that ought to be a blast to drive! If I ever get to do it, I want to coyote swap a new edge auto, as that hp in a lighter car would be a blast to drive over the same combo in an s197. Mine made 800 rwhp on 14 to 15 psi, it's on 19 psi now. At 19, I think it is around 1k rwhp. Only been out to the track once this year, been busy building a garage to move all my equipment and cars into, which is finally finished enough for me to work out of. Didn't mean to hijack your thread, just great to see a familiar face still here.

I think it will be!

Feel free to post here anytime! This massive thread has been all over the map for about 14 years ;) I’m not going anywhere and I still post on corral a bit too.

Now that sounds like fun! I bet I could knock ALL the cones down on the autocross pad AND lay an Aussie style smoke screen at the same time.

Haven’t done anything with the car lately. Just easier to hop in the red car daily. The shifter handle is loose and the tune is acting goofy with the cooler weather. Seems an idle enrichment table needs an adjustment because it’s pretty fat. You can see it idling around 11.7 in the picture below, oh and I did recently roll 6666 miles.

It’s really cold where I am . We’ve had snow a few times already . Wish I could still drive the car this time of year .

Decided to space the rear wheels out 1/2" to gain some rear track width. Research suggests that a wider front than rear track can cause the car to roll more onto the outside rear tire on corner entry. This plants that tire harder but reduces the load & grip on the outside front tire.

This is an older picture but you can see how much wider the front track width is.

Is the front width actually wider though, or is it just the curves in the rear quarter that make it appear that way?

A bit of both, really. I can't stand the way the wheels sit inside the rear fenders!

The 96+ spindles add 8mm to the track, the MM K is said to add 1/4 to each side and the wheel offset pushed them out a little more. It isn't much but it's wider.
