Didn’t get to cut anything yet, but I did find the location for the rear end (moved it backward after the picture). Test fitted the rear wheel from the mustang and it looks like the SN wheel is going to fit perfectly. It’s just inside the fender lip and just right on the inside. I think I’m going to sit it down about 2” from where it is in the picture. I’ve made some marks on the frame today and will probably be cutting on it tomorrow.

what do you think the tow and hauling capacity will be with the IRS? I mean I am sure this was the most important aspect to consider in this decision. :)

Oddly enough, I put a fair amount of thought in to it. It’s not going to be anything special but I’m sure I can get some plywood of 2x4’s back there. I’ll need to see if I can do some math but maybe 500-800 lbs. I’ll stick a couple fat friends in the bed and see how we do.

So, mounting the shocks at a 20° angle (where they will be) I will be able to use about 88-91% of the springs capacity. So depending on spring rate I’ll probably end up being able to put about 1500lbs on each corner. So I’m thinking I’ll be ok.

So I made the rear cuts in the frame to get the subframe tucked up nice and at the ride height I wanted. I also cut the stock rear bushings out and cut the front bushings off. I need to make the cuts in the frame above the axles and upper control arms. Then build the front mounts and box everything in. I’ve got the rear centered side to side and even front to back, with the pinion angle at 3°.

Man this looks amazing! I'm envious of people that can envision something like this and make it happen. This would look slick sitting on the ground.

I do have the rear end completely welded in to the frame with the front brackets built, but the frame is not boxed yet. I’ve been caught up doing other work lately.

I agree that it would be awesome laid out on the ground, but that’s just not what I had in mind. It’s going to be driven quite a bit once it’s finished.

if your married I am willing to bet dollars to donuts it was not her idea :)
I am married, and I will say you are absolutely correct. It was not her idea lol.

I had a thought that I would use the body control module and the fuse box and everything. I think I may be past that idea though. This car is a 2006 so I’ll be able to tune the ecu with my hptuners.
