Not much of an update. But I stopped by my brothers to take a look at the old girl and snapped a couple pics of how the car sits as of now. Definitely hate seeing it in the shape it’s in. The old boy does need some love.

Few more odds and ends and I have everything for the motor rebuild. I have brand new ball joints, paint and a carpet for the car, I plan on respecting the rims as well. I have racked up $1500 right now to go towards the car possibly. What would be the smartest thing to do with that budget?

I’d inspect everything; brakes, suspension bushings, fluids, belts, hoses, plugs, clutch, fuel filter, fuel pump strainer, internally inspect the tank, check the tires, etc

If all of that checks out, swapping the rear gears is a great bang for the buck upgrade.

Front shocks are new, rear are konis which are good. Motor needs head gaskets so rebuilding it along with new belt and fluids. Radiator is new, hoses will be replaced, I have new coil packs and wires going in as well as plugs. it will need some tires, I’m trying to find some 305s for it. I have the truck throttle body for it, I’ll pick up a crown Vic plenum. Waiting on heads from black. And I do plan on cleaning gas tank and the injectors. New fuel filter will be put on. As well as rotors and brakes on all four corners. Car is an auto, does need front pump seal. And I do want to slap some 373s out back

Anybody running sr performance springs? From pics I’ve seen they lower the car to where I would like it and for the price I don’t think you can beat it. Also let’s talk tires, I want that wide aggressive look in the rear, so I’m leaning towards some mickeys, preferably a 305 but I haven’t had any luck finding a set thst isn’t an arm and a leg

Okay after some looking around on the interwebs, I’ve looked at two tires in particular. Mickey Thompson street comps, and Mickey Thompson et street s/s tires. Both 315s. Has anyone ran either one of those sets? And what’s your input on them?

So I recently came across a deal on the old Facebook market place last week. A guy said he had a 2v 4.6 that had been rebuilt, new pistons, polished crank, timing components, valve seals, springs, etc. he only wanted $300 I offered him $150 to see if he’d budge and we met at $200. I picked the motor up today, and it all looked like it was a good deal. He even gave me the engine stand that the motor was on. So we make the exchange I bring it to my buddies and we check a main and rod bearing. It looks good! It all looks good, minus some moisture from it sitting over a year. For $200 I’m not complaining! The thing is it’s a Windsor motor, and my car has a Romeo engine. So I plan on letting this motor take my old ones place so I can drive the old girl around, and I’ll build my npi engine on the side. So with it being a Windsor will it bolt right in? Or what am I going to have to do to make it go together?

Aren't the valve cover bolt hole patterns different on the Windsor and Romeo, or am I thinking of something else?
