nice build you have going here Chaz.
Body work looks good, and I like the "STANG" on the rear cover.

Re: 1997 GT build (time for the motor)

Picking up a newer tranny that has 90K and has a shift kit, I will be adding a high performance torq converter to it and putting that in

After this is done I will be rebuilding the rear end then adding a little 125-150 shot

Where are you getting the convertor?

Not sure Im having Travis call the shots. I think I will go with a 2700 stall with a progressive 150 shot

Re: 1997 GT build (time for the motor)

Update, this last weekend I got some new wheels for the stang just in time for our local cruse.
Also coming up this week is a rear end rebuild and the new built trans and stall are going in the car.

Built trans is in with a 3000 stall
Also rebuilt the rear end and went to 373s from 410s. This was a good call since with the stall I burn the tires in first and when it shifts in 2nd it spins again..

Picking up A Vortech this weekend

Nice build... Just so you don't go to far thinking you have a Cobra crank without actually verifying that fact... Some 99-91 Automatic GTs came with an 8 bolt cast crank from the factory so just be safe. Great job so far good luck going further!

Re: 1997 GT build NEW Vortech SC added

Last year I had a PI motor 10.5/1 CR with a Vortech SC pushing about 6lbs making just over 390hp

Beefed up 4r70 trans

12.7 1/4 mile

A Lot has changed from last year to this year

Took my car in to the shop in April to make some changes and just got it back, this is what I ended up with

Aluminum Block, Forged stroker internals, 4v cobra heads with stock cams.
Modified on 3 turbo kit with a Bullseye S366 B.M.W. turbo
Fully built 4r70 with trans break (capable of handling 1500 hp)
New rear end with 31spline axles and 355 gears

First time on dyno car made 633hp on 14lbs of boost.

The next few weeks we will be running some test on it and fixing a few exhaust leaks and see if we can add 2-3 more pounds of boost.

Not to bad for an Auto car with a 66mm turbo
