Legend
Vehicle--- 1996 Ford Mustang
Mileage--- 125376 MI
Color-- Black/Black
Trans--- t-45
Goal--- 320 rwhp, 28xx.00 Lbs and 11.99 or less 1/4 with stock bore and stock stroke !!!! didnt quite happen
I purchased the vehicle on May 28,2009. That summer I cracked the intake manifold and went Ported Pi heads, comp 270's and some other bolt ons. Over the next few months a ran from a 13.4 and squeezed a 12.8 and 1.8 (stock suspension at this time) out of it. Over the winter of 2008-9 I bought HPM lower control arms, Removed the sway bar (front and rear), installed 4cylinder fox springs and added 5way tokico shock/struts all around. Besides that the car wasn't touched less then a new tune and some Weld Pro stars. After the tune we noticed more oil consumption then the prior year so I started tracking driving style/speed/distance and how much and went to see the truth. If I drove within the limits I would see 6-800 miles out of a quart. It I beat on it or let it idle for long periods that time was shortened to one point of almost 250 miles and I was down. With this problem the car STILL put 304/310 down and ran a best time of 12.67 and a 1.62 short. After 30 passes in 4 weeks I felt I had gotten the best out of the car with the possible air and track conditions and called it done till the fall. The fall never happend due to an NMRA trip in the summer, me moving, and selling my truck and not having a trailer. So that basically catches us up to speed.
Right now the Mustang has no engine or trans. I have the donor block, Lincoln Mark VIII bared and ready for machine work. The Iron 2v GT motor is also bared and the heads have been stripped of Cams, valve springs, retainers and soon to be "loved" by Modular Head Shop. I have some new parts waiting to go in the car already such as K member, tubular a-arms, coil overs, cc plates, Kirkeys, Battery relocation kit, flaming river pull knob, and some upper control arms.
