please dont tell me that the "fuel maxx" chip you are planning to instal is one of those ebay ones that are a resistor for the MAF sensor...

Yeah, that's the one. I got it for free with the intake from a friend. He said it worked just fine on his mustang and he got better mpg out of it, i dont know about power however, but who cares, i got the thing for free.

I'm interested in the exhaust wrap, my exhaust does the same thing.
It was either that, or go to the exhaust shop and possibly have them weld another hanger to keep it in place. If the wrap works, i'll let you know.

that is one tiny cold air intake lol
Better than stock though lol. And i got a really good deal on it.

As far as not being able to see your gauges goes, you can scrape off the blue film behind the numbers, easy as pie. Have done it to my car and my neighbors. The red gauges=sick. Good work so far, I know what its like being in high school without much dinero to operate on something :)

Tell me about it. everytime i make up some money, i end up blowing it all on more stuff.
As for the blue film, don't you have to remove all the gauges and arrows first? How hard is it to reset them? Should i just take a picture of their location before i open up the cluster and then reset them or will they go back to their original state once i put everything back together?

I will admit its easier on 99-04 cars because we have a digital diagnostic, so I can see all the gauges in digital form to know where to put the needles. When we do it I usually fill up with gas to a full tank, so you can just put the gas gauge right back to full. Voltage and oil pressure are pretty easy to put where they normally go. You know where your car idles at, that's a pretty easy one to tackle lol. I would say the hardest to do is speedo. We usually roll around at 20 mph and press it on. Be careful, if you press them on too much, they won't move right, it you don't press enough, they'll fall off haha.

Sounds harder than it really is, you willl know.

O i forgot temp. You just let the car warm up and put it where it normally sits. You'll be fine.

Thanks bro. I think i got about all of them in their correct places afterwards, took some time to do though. At first i had pressed too hard like you had stated and when i went to take the car for a test drive, the speedo wasnt smooth at all, more or less skipping & jumping speeds. However, when i was putting them all back into place, i dropped my oil needle and its too dark to look for it at the moment. It fell somewhere behind the cluster... I'll just have to wait til tomorrow to search for it again.

December 8, 2011: Red LED Cluster

Anyways, here are the pics and the turnout! This was truly a pain in the ass to accomplish. It took me about 1.5 hours to sand it all down to remove the film tint alone. Then about another hour to re-position my arrows.

December 9, 2011: Engine Bay Detailing

Finally got to work on bringing my engine bay to life.
I like having a clean engine bay, so i'm going to do a bit of reading and figure out how to hide alot of these wires.

With a few little things here and there from pepboys (red electrical tape, red wire covers, red engine paint) i slowly started painted and decorating my motor.
I painted the strut bar red and spray painted the intake couplers red. I'm also looking to buy new red spark plug wires, but that'll come a little later once i start making more money.
I'm still debating whether i should spray my valve covers red or whether i should buy new polished ones to compliment the intake.

December 12, 2011: Headlight HIDs

I'm not exactly sure what i was smoking when i bought these yesterday. $25 for the kit.
I will probably order new replacement bulbs as these are really really really really blue.

Oh well. For the few weeks i have them, i will try and enjoy them as they stand out so much.
I just placed an order for some xenon 6000K HID bulbs. I will most likely keep the 10000K for when i want to show off or something.
I'm also selling my old headlight bulbs, which are in near mint condition. I had them for about 1 month. They are 6000K HID replicas and here is what they look like: http://i41.tinypic.com/21lldue.jpg. $20 shipped and they're yours!

I mounted one ballast near the fenderwall/intake and the other near the battery, which is a little hard to see in the picture.
Nonetheless, here are the pictures of the new HID's in action.

ha, that would be like instant ticket around here. good luck ;p

I bought them yesterday thinking "10000K? oh that seems blue enough. it'll look cool".
I installed them today and i stared at them and thought to myself "what have i done" hahaha
I'll most likely switch to around 6K to match my fogs.
