After being swamped with school I finally started my head/cam swap on the pig! :headbang: To compliment the street heat intake, I got a set of 170cc aluminum twisted wedges w/ afm .650lift springs, 1.6rr's, trickflow pushrods, arp headbolts and i'm picking up an N41 this week! Should it all go together well this thing should scream =D Just wondering, Does anyone have any personal experience with Anderson N41 cam? What kind of power should I be expected after the swap?

Re: Finally Started the Head Swap!

Haha I've been looking for one since beginning of summer, its a long long waiting process finding a good deal.

Side note: I'm havingg issues getting the p/s pump bracket off of the old head for removal. Its the one that's behind the actual power steering pulley. Would putting the two other bolts back in and then trying to break it lose help? Did anyone get around this one without having to pull the pulley off?

I just took my AFR heads off to get trickflows. I just unbolted the entire bracket off the head and then took the PS pump off from there. Just disconnect the lines to the PS pump and unbolt the bracket from the head. You need to remove the pulley to get the PS pump off.

b/c they were 185cc head with 72cc combustion chambers on an NA engine giving me 8:4 compression so I upgraded to Trickflow 205cc heads with 65cc combustion chambers which will give me 9:3 compression and better flowing heads once I buy them

you have tfs specific pistons? if not the afr 205s 58cc or edelbrock victor junior 210 60cc would be my choice

Stock pistons. Hoping I can get away w/ out any PVC issues, but I'll see when the time comes. According to the summit site there are no 58cc heads in the 205 size just the 225's. The 205's are the 65cc chambers

Re: Finally Started the Head Swap!

I just pull the pulley off just enough to get a box end wrench on the bolt.

Re: Finally Started the Head Swap!

Update: Still havent gotten the bracket off, going to wait until I get the heads on to just rent a puller for the pullet, get the bolt off, then put it back on the new heads. Next question is what head gaskets should I get? I've heard the felpro-high performance will do just fine on a bolt on 5.0?

Re: Finally Started the Head Swap!

Help! So after putting it all together, I found out tghaqt the oem valve covers won't fit over the rr's argg, so I got a set of foxbody. Mkicket thompson tall covers. Now what I'm worried about is if the intake is going to fit without a spacer on it??? Id like to get my car together this weekend so a quick response is greatly appreciated!

Get a spacer if it does not fit, wont have any clearance issues w/ that hood
