Thanks dude, much appreciated! Same to you, your sn95 in your signature looks sick! I think that will be my next build. Early sn95 with a coyote, and griggs setup...wicked!

I'll try to get some more rear end pics once the weather clears up a bit

Thanks! I think it turned out really well! Passed emissions on Saturday with flying colors, and started the teardown last night. Should have it out next weekend and I can start exchanging a couple parts. Not long now!

Well the new engine ran for the first time today. Uploaded the new start up tune and it fired right up on the 3rd try and idled really nicely. Unfortunently, i've got some leaks. The rear of the oil pan has a slight drip and the timing cover is leaking just above where the head meets the block on the driver bank. This is an odd one because I used silicone on the head to block mating surface and the gasket was brand new. Oh well, just need to tear into it to get it all sorted out. Anyways here's the startup vid, hoping to have it running again soon with no leaks and then I'll be off to the dyno for the fun part.

It's been a while since I've updated, so I figured it was time! Car has been sitting for a while, aligned it a while back just so I could put some miles on it. Still have a small leak from the rear main housing, going to pull the trans and put a factory piece in instead of the junk MMR piece. Car is currently tuned up to about 7000 RPM and pulls very hard around 4500-5000. Started pulling the interior apart to try and drop as much weight as possible to actually compete in CP here soon. Removed airbags, ducting, carpet, sound deadening, interior panels except dash. Made a pretty cool piece over the weekend. Been looking into making some carbon fiber parts, partly to start selling some custom parts, but also to lighten up my car. Got all the materials and started looking into what I could make. I started looking at parts to make and I decided the first thing would be the bracket that holds the Fuel Pump Driver Module to the body of the car. The bracket is pretty small and probably only weighs about a pound or so, but I figured this would be a good place to start. It's a pretty simple design with no really difficult looking areas and the bracket didn't have to carry much weight. Here's the results! Took me about 10 hours total. The drying of the part took a good 5 hours or so. Ready to take on my next part! Let me know if anyone needs anything made. Sticking to small pieces for now, but one day hoping to make some larger pieces! Old piece weighs about a pound, new piece weighs a few ounces.

2 and a half years since an update? I think its time
First off, engine gave out after 1k miles, in contact with MMR now for a refund. Looks to me like a wrist pin clip wasn't installed during assembly. Left a 1/8" score in the #7 cylinder wall.

Car is torn down, I mean really torn down. All suspension sold in the last 2 weeks. No, not parting out, completely….

On order Griggs SLA, various IRS parts including FTBR goodies. Lots of other stuff in the works. Here's some pics, enjoy!

Can't put into words how much of a PITA to get rid of the sound deadening in these cars. Dry ice didn't work, finally used a heat gun and scraper, then went over it with a crud thug, and finally a wipe down with acetone. It's mostly done, just a few hard to get spots left.

Found these

Thanks guys! I honestly kind of forgot about this forum until I was looking for some info and it brought me here last night.

So, right now I'm trying to get the car back on the wheels so I can start building a cage. Shouldn't be too far out, but the spindles from Griggs will take a little bit to save for unless I get refunded for this engine. I'm also going to build my own rear IRS upper and lower arms to see if I can get some more camber and hopefully some kind of roll center adjustment. Then I'll probably be looking into building an adjustable sway bar for the rear like the Griggs front bar.

Trying to get as much adjustment built into this car as possible. It's probably overkill, but I want to be able to compensate for anything weird that the car is doing when I actually start testing it. Again, it's overkill, but I'm planning on having a set of 4 way shocks built for the car and may need to change the mounting point for the rear end, but that's something to cross later down the road.

Also, I should probably update the plans for the car. I did some autocrossing in it with the old setup and it felt great, really stable and tons of grip, but once the engine went I just decided I wanted more out of it. Since then, I've been doing some NASA events and really want to build the car for AIX and eventually do the Pikes peak hill climb with it.

Ill post a couple of the autocross videos from last year.

Awesome build up!

I can't wait to see the SLA and IRS go on. Especially interested to see what you come up with for the IRS control arms.

Thanks guys! I've done a little here and there. I'm gonna take a shot at building front fenders for the car because I'll be running 11" wide wheels and tires on the front and rear.

im really excited to mess around with the IRS! I got stock upper and lower arms last week to build a jig and then start messing around with different ideas. When I'm done I should be able to make more if anyone is interested down the road!
