table size is 24 x 40". It wasn't cheap but it is making me money already and I think I can have it pay for itself in a little more than a year.

Made some more progress today scuffed, taped off, high temp primed and painted the block with eastwood ceramic black. 4 parts paint 1 part activator. I am very pleased with how it turned out. Monday I will call the balancing shop and see if they were able to get to it. Then I will need to reach out to apocalypse performance for the cams and NEP for the heads. Hopefully SOME progress is being made. Have shoulder labrum repair surgery in 2 weeks. So I wont be doing much after that for quite a while.

Looks heavy!

Very cool, no dought
Lol yes it is! Had to buy a bigger, manly engine stand for this project, the duralast scorpion stand that I have the other 4.6 on was sagging under the weight of the v10 long block, making my buddy and i quite alarmed. This $200 harbor freight one is worth every penny and is rated to handle diesel engines. The long block is allegedly 20 or so lbs lighter than an 03/04 cobra motor plus blower. I guess the blower and 4v heads were a lot heavier than I thought.

Wohhh!!! Big day today!!! I am super excited. As you can see.. these things are ridiculously long.. Now trying to figure how to read the LSM cam card...20220822_184742.jpg20220822_185214.jpg

Now I need to see where the cylinder head guy is at with my heads... as well as the rotating assembly guy for balancing.

Another score for some parts. Picked up an off road BBK H pipe for longtubes and a set of lightly rusted pace setter longtubes for $200 as well as some scrap plate to practice welding. I plan to use a flap wheel on these headers and the mid pipe to clean them up so they can be welded... hopefully... lol. They were more rough than I though they would be when I got there. I Have a set of bbk longtubes BNIB I will be picking up semi locally soon. I will use the BBKs as the base and modify them with persuasion to fit. Then I will use the pace setters as parts to make the front 2 primaries and tie them in wherever I can.

Until then I am still recovering from should labrum repair surgery. So I sit around all day staring at car parts deals.20220915_153706.jpg20220915_153700.jpg

Have them blasted and spend the money to have the Jet Hot or ceramic coated.

It’ll keep them around long term.

I'll definitely keep that in mind when they are finished. These headers I will be cutting up and using the pipes for the extra set of "front" primaries for the v10. The BBKs will take rows 2 through 5. Then once I get everything to fit I will pull everything back out and have them coated. Plan to use an H pipe and also have either an X pipe or a prochamber to swap in and out to switch it up. Mufflers/catbacks I am thinking either blowmaster 40s, borla proXs. Or bassani. If it ends up in a round body, it will end with LX tail pipes to follow the contours of the bumper.

Open to muffler suggestions though. Since it's one giant gamble of what it will sound like anyway. Since the superduty/excursion/e350s all use some funky shaped Y pipe that gives the engine a sound of a wooky. So who knows what an h x or magic box sounds like with who knows what mufflers.

Step 3!!! Yayyyyy
Only thing left is the alternator. If I can figure out how to disassemble the alternator, I would love to powdercoat or paint it and the pulley.

I am fairly sure you can just use an impact to remove the pulley on the alt. At least on a 302 but then I forgot....

Oh absolutely, I'm just a 1 armed bandit for now. Lol I'm talking more specifically doing the alternator case. I have never removed the innards from the aluminum case

I tore down a 2v alternator once. It was pretty straight forward. Make sure to make alignment marks on the two halves of the case. I think there is a good tear down video on you tube.
