Alright, decided to burn the late night oil tonight. Getting to learn all about redcar tonight, and boy is she interesting.

Put the car in the air, removed the H pipe, pulled the clutch cable and drive shaft. So it appears that redcar was originally an automatic, deducting this off of the hole shape in the trans tunnel. Plus the hanging lines which looked like it would go to an auto trans cooler. Perhaps someone can comment on that.View attachment 21556

Additionally, the drive shaft bolts were completely loose and the pinion is slinging some fluid. View attachment 21557

It has an aluminum drive shaft..

Some form of spec clutch and the throwout bearing is completely separated in 3 pieces. The clutch fork is loose like a goose and not clicking into the pivot ball so that should probably be replaced. And this is what one of the previous owners used as a firewall adjuster.. only they are nearly the same sizes the hole so it just bound the cable up.View attachment 21560

Quickly installed a ford racing click style adjuster. And decided to drain the trans fluid so I can get ready to pull the T5.View attachment 21561
It was a factory auto and thry didn't even remove the cooler lines. The hole in the floor is for an auto trans. Was this a V6 car?

I think it was a v8 auto. The vin registers as a GT. Haven't been up there to check the door sticker for the auto/manual code yet. Will do that this weekend. If I recall the guy said the rear either has a Detroit ratchet style locker or a welded diff.. another interesting "feature"

Alright so it was definitely an auto car. I have removed the auto trans cooler lines. Replaced the broken battery tray with a good one I had lying around. Swapped the pivot ball, installed the new throwout bearing and mcleod clutch fork. Stabbed the trans back in, drive shaft, H pipe, dumped the fluid back in. The shifter and set the clutch cable slack. It feels so good not having any squealing now. Also removed and replaced the skirts with the ones I picked up. Yay.. less fade. My buddy also "influenced my passenger fender to be a little straighter. While i was at it i replaced all of the missing clips and screws for the fender liners and bumper. Was a productive evening for sure. Next time i will do the rear top seaps and probably start gluing the bracket back to the window...20221120_221037.jpg

Took it out for a shake down run since the tranny was put in. Trans has a little whine. The rear end has a howl on accel. And a clunking is present in the rear noticeable when turning. My buddy said it sounded external. My guess is the upper or lower control arms.. My gut says it's the upper bushings specifically. I will deal with that later. Instead i put the car up on blocks. This way i can weld in the subframe connectors when they arrive. Pulled the seats.. probably should have phoned a friend due to the shoulder but i got them out stress free. Next time i will pull the center console, seat belts, vacuum the carpet and pull that. Then start popping the side skirts off again. Wish i didnt install them yet >_< so i might have to get new clips again. 20221126_172934.jpg

Well.. a large part of my credit card carelessness has arrived. A pile of parts.. manual Transmission tunnel hump with fasteners... plastic window polish to make my hazy rear window clear again... a motive bearing rear end kit.. but with a Yukon crush sleeve eliminator kit and their super shim kit for the carrier bearings.. because after using those. Why would you ever use the competitors ever again?20221201_202216.jpg

And what is that?? There is more??!! A large mysterious box full of... foam...20221201_203011.jpg

But wait there's more! Bone white looking skinzzzzz.

Well progress Has slowed due to the end of the year push with work. So its been 10-12 hour days, so I will crank out what I can when I can till the new year.

The last of my deviant black friday credit card purchases has arrived!!!20221208_193947.jpg

Ohhhh ahhh stripped the remainder of the interior less the dash board. Pulled the carpet, loosely bolted the connectors up as a test fit and marked all of the areas I need to flatten, trim, and grind for weld prep. Will grind cut and weld when I get a full evening or free day.

20221208_211817.jpg

Then I went inside the car and i drilled/riveted in the manual trans hump. Added the new bezel plate/gasket and it looks good as new.

20221208_201204.jpg

So these were in the trunk of the car, sn95 cobra upper and lower, and a 75mm throttle body. Any idea what these are worth?

CJ pony parts, 79-93 foxbody manual trans hump. Fits this like a dream. I have an old spare metal/rubber upper gasket with the bolts and clips if you need one

I will inspect mine and see if it needs replacing, thanks. I had to open my trans tunnel opening up a little to fit the T56 magnum shifter and, with a little thought, this may work to better seal the opening.

Just takes an F drill and some 1/4" rivets and a $20 harbor freight rivet gun

Well.. I didn't get to the subframe connectors today.. but I did do something very special..
20221211_150023.jpg20221211_152010.jpg20221211_154333.jpg20221211_193459.jpg20221211_171914.jpg

I learned about hog rings, LOL. The results are amazing... i need to sit in them a bit and warm them up and they will probably unwrinkle some more.20221211_205639.jpg

The bad news is the back seat is going to be a nightmare. I need to cut off all of the leather from the rear seat foam.. going to be a challenge to say the least.

The next session will be after vacation. So probably next year.. let's see if it becomes a welding session or a back seat session

ya need to start smacking them like you always wanted to do to that one ex of yours, and I am being completely honest. Put them out in the sun to warm up a little bit and then you just need to slap the area around the wrinkles. As you hit them try to get as much of your palm on the leather each time and you can slowly pull them into position and work them out. Never piss off an interior upholstery guy they know how to bitch smack like no other.

Those original Cobra intakes bring good money, anywhere from $500-1000 depending on the market. I've been watching them since I got my '94 a couple years ago.

I put it up for a quick sale at 500 buyer pays shipping and only did the tri state area. Guy already pmd me about it. Probably be like $60 to ship upper and lower.. also said it comes with a mystery 75mm throttle body. Just want to get it out of the trunk and recouped some money out of the car purchase. Would be nice then the car purchase would be 2500 instead of 3000. If you think I'm an idiot for putting it at 500, then let me know.
