As some of you know I recently bought a 94 GT convertible for $200 from a mechanic. The car was completely stripped and had been used to build a kit car. I originally bought it with the intentions of using the brakes and suspension to convert my 95 v6 to a gt. After I realized that the white interior the 94 was so rare I decided to completely rebuild the car.

What it was missing when I bought it: engine, trans, rear end, hood hinges, driveshaft, oh and every piece of wiring had been removed from the headlights to the taillights

What it did have: K-member brace, tokico shocks, slotted rotors, caster/camber plates, slashed convertible top w/ rear glass and defrost, and the white leather interior!

Here are pictures of the car the day I bought it:

I bolted up a fox rear end from another car I have to transport it

Here are pictures of the upgrades the previous owner had installed

This is probably going to be one of those threads with lots of pictures :) as I like to show off my work a little

Thanks! I tried washing it first with with soap and water, but it wouldn't cut the deep dirt that had been there for almost 19 years. I used gritty mechanic hand soap and diluted comet. I think I spent about 2 hours today just between the dash and console. I still have to do the door panels, but that will be later.

Cool project man... if that thing had the white top and interior in it, you'd have yourself a pretty rare car there.
BTW, that cross member brace isnt an upgrade... Verts came stock with them. I tossed mine probably 10 yrs ago because it was in the way and I got tired of hearing it scrape on stuff.

Ive got a nice engine and 5 speed for it with quite a few upgrades. I also have a mach 1 spring set for it. Im goong to do subframes to stiffen the body up. I also plan to run a big system in it but all concealed. Im going to use the stock amp and speaker locations and run jl components up front, jl 6w3v3-4's in the mach 460 boxes along with 3.5" mids in the back.

I started with dawn and water, then moved on to the gritty soap mechanics use. I had to really massage the soap into the arm rest. Then I followed up with comet and lots of water.

I do too! Eventually I will have to get the seats recovered because they are cracked and torn but for now I'm focused on assembling the car and getting it running. Speaking of assembly, I was going through the dash harness I received from ebay and noticed some wires cut.

The ebay seller said he thought it was wiring for srs but isn't sure. Anyone have ideas? It's 8 or 9 wires in a grey sleeve with a purple line on it.

Update: I finished wiring up the dash about an hour ago. I installed the gauges, and I robbed the dash clock and trunk button from my v6. Here's a picture of the mostly assembled dash.

Today I got the dash into the car all mounted and everything. I mocked up the center console to see how it would look but I still haven't got the body harness so I couldn't bolt it down. Still need a complete steering column and pedals to complete the dash. I am currently the high bidder for a clutch pedal assembly so we will see how that goes

I also noticed quit a bit of rust on the driver's side rail where the battery box sets and decided to take care of that while there wasn't an engine in the car. Sorry no picture of the rust, just of my primer job. Tomorrow I will match the paint and make it look right.

God I love the white interior!
White and titanium grey are the best looking ones!

I would've bought the car in a heart beat for that price, let alone the interior for 200 dollars

Thanks! Comments like that make me even more proud of my project. Honestly figuring out where all the wiring goes and what is missing is the hardest part. It seems like every time I get something put together I discover something else I need to get.

On a side note, is it really required to have 100 posts to open a thread in the classifieds section? I have alot of mustang stuff to sell to get me money for this project........
