They call it the rust belt for a reason. Drivers side strut tower and frame rail. Was hoping for a easy splice but because the frame was rusted inside the outer sleeve I had no clearance for welding. Took the back half completely out so there would only be one splice. K member bolts still had a couple miles left in them but decided to replace them while I had it apart

Recently went through this exact repair, the rust belt sucks

Luckily the passenger side wasn't as bad. Only had to surgically remove the damaged areas and replace with new.

Made room for the Scott rod panels on both sides

Core support removed. I'm thinking it's like 32 spot welds per side. First 20 of so weren't so bad but then it just sucked

I thought I was reading around on there at one time and you can actually order a package from them and then put your car on their registry.

Well slow progress is still progress. New radiator support welded in. Cut all the extra tabs and filled the unused holes. Welded the hood latch on and got the bay coated in primer. Next step is welding in panels, fiberglass filler over welds and them smooth the rest out

........they're still a thing?! holy cow. wish i would've known when i was doing the body work :D

Someone is seeling a few sets of those right now I believe. It's the same guy selling all the export tails and mirrors.

Got the passenger side panels welded in and first coat of fiberglass filler on the welded areas.
