soooo its a teksid block but was built after 99....weird...why didn't they just stay with teksid then what was the reason for the wap swap?

It's an over the counter replacement, cast after the regular production run.

Because my uncle Chuck has a 97 Mark VIII and he tossed a rod through the block. I remember it because it was a week before I left for basic and he has money and no sense, so he went to the local Dealer and bought a longblock, and I swapped it in. I don't know where it was cast, but I remember the webbing wasn't the same as the old block, it looked like that.

no mine looks like a Teksid block, not a WAP.

WAPs were made in 99 but i hear some 99 motors were Teksid and they were the remanufactured blocks for people that blew a motor under warranty and went to Ford for a new engine.

Teksids can hold biggggggg amounts of power.

ive heard 900 but ive read some people are over 1000 and have been that way for 2 years.

I think waps are good to like 700-800.. dont quote me though. i will try and find where I read that. :thumb:

I use this rule of thumb, they are all good until the break, then I need something better.

Any stock block, from GT- Teskid is stronger than any of us need.

Teskid and WAP blocks are good for over 1500+, The 05+ WAP blocks are suppose to be the strongest.

In front of you
like dfg said the blocks can handle 1500+, john mihovetz car ran a stock 96 cobra block and was pushing 1600+, if your looking to get into the big numbers bigger than 600 most mod motor builders reccomend getting a main girdle thats about it. as for your heads they are b-heads, the intake manifold you are using is a dual intake runner manifold and wouldnt work on newer dohc like the c head/tumble port head. other than that the engine looks pretty good if your just going to freshen it up put some good main bearings in there and while your at it upgrade the oil pump gears. i have alot of experience with these engines so if you have any questions dont hesitate to pm me bud :thumb: goodluck with your build!

thank you knuckles.. the guy that owns the shop told me that everything in that motor is fine and he said there is nothing wrong with just putting everything together.

i went and picked up the oil pan today because he forgot to give it to me and to get the pullies i was missing but he didn't have time to get the pullies out. he also ordered my headgaskets for me today to so i didn't get anything done today but its ok. me and my dad are going to start tomorrow on the motor.

thanks for all that info knuckles, ill let you know if i have anything for you.

how much of an increase will i see with this motor guys? the car has JE forged pistons, forged Hbeam rods, stock crank, 1 rebuilt head, 1 new head, i will port match the intake to the heads, probably space the throttle body a bit, JLT cold air intake, MSD plug wires, new clutch will go in, aluminum driveshaft, longtubes, offroad hpipe, 2 chamber flowies, and for now thats all because i can't remember everything. i will be driving the white cobra for a while..
